this is just a reminder for those who need to see it but you dont have to transition to be trans. not socially, not physically, nothing. you dont have to have dysphoria, you dont have to use traditional pronouns or any pronouns at all.

you don’t have to change your name, you dont have to pass, you dont have to prove yourself. there is no gauntlet, no checklist of requirements. you are trans enough, just existing.

i dont want to divide the trans people or imply anything weird like dysphoria being necessary, but i think a lot of trans ppl downplay bottom dysphoria. if you are happy with your body thats perfectly fine, but try to understand why other people get these procedures. suggesting people just get therapy for their bottom surgery is literally just conversion therapy. there is so much misinformation and hate around them, we get enough of that from cis ppl… we dont need it from other trans ppl.

If something happens to a hen’s ovary and it ceases to function for whatever reason, the other gland will turn on, producing male sex hormones. The hen will grow longer and prettier feathers, a claw on their feet, a bigger comb, and they will begin to crow. Some, especially if they are influenced by other roosters, will begin to act aggressive, and protective over hens. The only way you can really tell if they were born a hen at that point is if you notice the rooster isn’t impregnating any females and by doing a blood test. Some people also say that their trans roosters tend to be a little bit sloppy at being a rooster if they didn’t have any roosters to teach them.

there’s a post going around listing trans people who killed themselves post-Trump’s election. it is not properly sourced, and searching the names net absolutely no results. it’s fake. i understand why people might reblog this (because it was honestly a horrifying post to read when i thought it was true), but please look into stuff before you reblog them & don’t spread misinformation. don’t create artificial trauma for already terrified communities.

Hey actually let me add that trans lifeline really needs volunteers now more than ever to work as operators. They provide training, you only have to be trans or nonbinary to pariticipate. You can apply online at their website www.translifeline.org/help This is a really great way to do some good if, like me, you can’t participate in direct poltical agitation work.

Please volunteer or donate to them if you can. You just need to be a trans person woth some free time to help out.

To all of my friends out there and ESPECIALLY my trans friends, if you hadn’t done so now, PLEASE GET A PASSPORT.

President Obama made it VERY easy to get your gender marker changed on your passport. All you need is:

- An ID that resembles your current appearance (just get a new photo taken on a driver’s license or ANY government issued ID)

- Passport photo that resembles your current appearance (From any drug store)

- Proof of legal name change (if applicable)

- A physician statement that indicates you have either completed or are in process of treatment for gender transition (the hardest part)

No surgeries, no red tape, no bullshit. And when people try to harass you or puush you around because “Hahaha your ID says your x” Whip out your passport and shut them DOWN. I carry mine wherever I go and I know a lot of my friends who live in the south do so as well. 

This law could VERY easily change under a Trump presidency and I haven’t been as serious about anything as I am about this. PLEASE GET A PASSPORT. Even the passport card (which is half as expensive as the book is!!!) will do. Just please if you can, get ONE ID that matches who you really are.

And I know to be able to get all of this together is a sign of privilege in the first place, and from one black, trans, queer women to all of my vulnerable siblings I will rot in a jail cell before I let this country harm any of us and I this I swear. I will NOT take this lying down.

This is legit. My therapist at the VA told me this was the easiest way to get a form of ID with the proper gender marker on it.

I work in a supermarket. Your passport is a picture ID with your birthdate on it. We take it for buying booze. I’ve recommended getting one to more than one nervous person handing over their license. It expires just like your license and there’s some red tape for getting it renewed in a timely manner, but it’s considered as valid as your license even if it’s maybe less easy to carry around.

AND it’s internationally valid, unlike, say, your driver’s license.
