zephram cochrane/tuvok

I am unsure what this is for. Confused bc it is stated like a ship but my only recent meme is the character opinions one? So I guess I will do that for both of them. I mean, as a ship, it doesnt spark joy for me, I have to admit. Tuvok deserves better.

Zephram Cochrane: I mean, tbh I don’t think about him much. I’ve only seen the movie once, but I remember that he rather got on my nerves.

Tuvok: Ah I love him. Ive only watched like maybe one whole season or a season and a half? of Voyager. But from what I have seen, I wish he was in it more! I def think they could have done more with him. That probably somehow goes for everyone on Voyager. I really love Tuvok’s scenes with Kes. Kinda wish he was my dad.

kelas parmak <3 for the bingo!!

Kelas Parmak, my beloved!! Light of my life! “wasted potential” and “didnt get enough screentime” bc they arent in the show at all 😭 “Nothing I like about them is technically canon” because, well, it’s all beta canon and also fanon. I always mark “never done anything wrong in their life” but for Kelas it is actually true.

Going back to our friendship and fandom roots: Beverly Katz!

Beverly Katz!! Blast from the past with this one. For those of you who don’t know, Bev was a character on NBC Hannibal played by the very talented Hettienne Park. Wasted potential and Done Dirty by Fans! But by fans I mean the show itself for the [redacted] bullshit in s2. I wouldn’t want to marry Bev, but I would love to be her friend.

this is her btw:

for the ask game: garak, kira, and b'elanna (hope i spelled that right)!

Elim Garak, my beloved. What can I say that hasn’t been said. I love him with my whole heart.

Kira Nerys: I wanted to mark more spaces for her, but they just don’t line up with my opinions on her, I guess. I needed spaces that were like “goddess of badassery” “in desperate need of a vacation” “infinite amounts of patience” “they can kill you with a glare (and also this phaser)”

image

B'elanna Torres: I still haven’t finished Voyager, but I do like B'elanna! Tbh she would get most of the spaces I listed up there for Kira. I feel like they would get along if the Maquis thing didn’t get in the way.

You are always so kind and I love your insights into characters and such. Sometimes I get that “omg I can’t believe they talk to me” feeling lol

WHAT is that video?? 😂😂😂😂 Dude is the walking antithesis to all those “omgg you don’t get praise for existing and performing basic duties” posts.

Penguins or flamingos?

Oh!! gosh that’s tough actually. My first instinct is to say penguins, but flamingos are fucking badass.

Flamingos court and nest in highly alkaline lakes that would kill most other animals. They gather in huuuge flocks, like in the thousands. The lakes where they live sometimes freeze at night, so the birds are trapped and must wait until morning to free themselves.

There is a lake in Tanzania, Lake Natron, which supports 75% of the world’s flamingo population. There’s a bit about it in one of the nature docs that has come out in the last few years. Might be Planet Earth? Definitely worth watching and learning more about these incredible, and highly specialized, birds.

Penguins! I mean this is kinda tough bc penguins are a broad category!! You have your Emperor penguins (tallest), well known nowadays from March of the Penguins. But also Little Blue penguins (smallest)! Chinstrap penguins (one personal fav)! There is even a species sometimes called the Jackass penguin bc their calls sound like donkeys.

Not all penguins live in Antarctica. They can be found in S. America, Africa, and Oceania. There are even penguins above the Equator in the Galapagos! (but not the arctic! polar bears and penguins never meet in the wild) Some even spend the breeding season in towns among people. (If I can suggest another nature doc, Penguin Town is adorable)

Some have cool hair styles like the Macaroni and Rockhopper penguins. Rockhoppers lay their eggs in the same nest year after year.

We love how cute they look waddling over land, but they fly through the water. It’s beautiful and amazing to watch.

Another fun fact about penguins is they were named based on their resemblance to a northern bird, called an Auk or Great Auk, which is now extinct. Consequently, the genus “Pinguinus” is used for auks, but not for penguins, as they are not closely related. Taxonomy!

In conclusion, I cannot choose. XD

aw i miss sleepovers!! no better bonding time than being 15 and sleeping on a friend's floor & still being awake & having a conversation with them at midnight <3 anyways tell me your top 5 of birds please!! (also cool facts i saw a dolphin in the fjord today it was cool)

Oh gosh top five birds is so hard!! XD There are so many!

Northern Cardinals: they are so bright and cheery and their songs are lovely.

Wood Duck: gorgeous ducks that nest in trees!! Very cool

Vorombe titan: native of Madagascar and the world’s heaviest bird, sadly now extinct. From Wikipedia: “In September 2018, scientists determined that Vorombe titan reached weights of 730 kg (1,600 lb) and stood 3 m (9.8 ft) tall, making it the world’s largest (heaviest) bird, slightly larger than the much older Dromornis stirtoni.” V. titan is a member of a group of extinct birds known as “Elephant Birds”.

Bearded Vulture: they’re huge, they dye their feathers with the red dust of their homelands, and they eat bones. Not just recreationally either, the majority of their diet is bones.

Peregrine Falcon: the fastest bird alive!! They can catch smaller birds in mid-flight. They have readily adapted to living in cities which makes them key in controlling pigeon populations. They are incredibly smart and can be trained to hunt for sport. And they’re so pretty!

Bonus! Pigeons aka Rock Doves: while wild rock doves do exist, their numbers are increased by feral domestic pigeons, descended from pet birds that were released (or escaped) into the wild. They produce a liquid to feed their young called “crop milk”, which I just think is fucking cool. They are also very pretty and never get enough love 💜
