those posts online that are like sometimes it’s ok to be tired and do nothing all day it’s self care were so damaging to me when i was like depressed asf and 20. sometimes you just gotta get up and do shit and you’ll feel less tired afterwards cuz you don’t have 100000 neglected chores and obligations slowly debuffing you and draining all your chakras. like sometimes you (ME) just gotta suck it up. not to sound like my dad but it’s true.
The big discourse on twitter right now is that writers going on strike or cancelling their own series are breaking an invisible “contract” they made with their fans and all creators owe their fans a satisfying conclusion to their stories.
Actually all fans owe all creators for entertaining them and if a creator says “I don’t want to perform this labor anymore,” then regardless of the cliffhanger that leaves you with, your only response should be “take care! Thank you for all your hard work!!!” :)

remember: don’t chase the pain. if you’re lucky enough to have access to an adequate supply of painkillers, use them early. if your pain is episodic, not continuous, hit the pain as soon as you notice it and your chances of avoiding a bad episode improve.
if you wait around to see if it gets ‘bad enough’ for painkillers, you’re more likely to end up in a lot of pain that’s difficult to control.
the tricky part is, if you do it right, it feels like you did it wrong. because if you catch the pain early before it gets bad, it often feels like 'it never got that bad so maybe i didn’t need the medication.’
but it didn’t get that bad BECAUSE of the medication! you did it right. it’s okay to use the tools at your disposal. fuck the stigma.
It’s so fucked up how tiktok culture has made clout-poisoned people turn the public into content, every day I see people minding their business have their entire faces put online for thousands of likes, a couple kissing on the train, a lady dancing across a cross walk, a guy nodding his head to the music at a club, a lady buying a banana at the store, ring camera footage of the neighbors kids being stupid. Just let people live jfc
I think I may have made it seem like this is about wholesome content (which my sentiment towards that is the same) but most of the time when I see this stuff people are being ridiculed for being completely normal. And I didn’t make up any of these examples btw, I couldn’t find the dance one but only because there are too many videos of people being recorded at cross walks
