i fully support people being able to vent

but i also firmly support a person’s right to say “hey, i really would rather not hear this right now” for any reason, so if you ever don’t want me to mindlessly ramble about how much my life sucks PLEASE feel free to tell me because i strongly think that helping someone deal with their problems should be VOLUNTARY

Tip: If it is a you-thing, make that clear. One phrase I’ve found useful in my personal life is “I don’t have the capacity to be a load-bearing component at this time.” It’s a little stuffy, but it makes it crystal clear where the problem is: capacity. It’s not about not-wanting to help, it’s not-having-the ability-to-can-even.

Something for all the “But Mike Pence!!!” types still arguing that we shouldn’t try to impeach Trump.(article)

Thank fuck, someone explained this more eloquently than I could.

(Though another reason this galls me is that Trump should be impeached because he has violated more laws than any president in our history. He needs to be punished for that. Saying that he shouldn’t because you don’t like the guy who comes next is attempting to game the system in much the same way the Republicans have been. Impeachment isn’t about trying to get the president you want. It’s about punishing the ones who break the law.)

I try to keep politics off this blog but god damn

Impeachment isn’t about trying to get the president you want. It’s about punishing the ones who break the law

I feel so sorry for the girls that are ‘anti-feminist’ just to be considered ‘chill’ by guys because honestly like that’s exactly why you need feminism, you still look to men to validate your self worth

every time i listen to “you’re a mean one mr. grinch” i can’t help but sit there and think “what did the grinch do to hurt you?” because dude just stands there for 2 minutes and 58 seconds and drags the grinch into the dirt

he stole christmas, kayla! stop with your #notallgrinches propaganda!

you know what if someone told me i was a three-decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich with arsenic sauce i’d probably be bitter enough to steal christmas too

Interestingly, though The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is narrated by Boris Karloff, the big musical number is sung by the late Thurl Ravenscroft - an American voice actor better known as the voice of Tony the Tiger.

My headcanon is that the Grinch and Tony the Tiger had a bad breakup, and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” is the resulting breakup song.

Did this really HAVE to be the first thing I see when I opened up Tumblr?

Yes.

  • don’t like me
  • liked me at one point, but don’t like me anymore
  • hate what i post
  • hate what i have to say about xyz topic
  • find me annoying
  • don’t have anything in common with me anymore, and are bored by the things i post
  • feel obligated by whatever personal reason you may have to keep following me, even if literally any of those above things apply

this applies to mutuals as well. your dash should be your happy place, so no hard feelings and i wish you the best in life

I’m adding here that I don’t actually check my followers list ever - I only ever check the number if I’ve had a rash of new follows - so if you’ve got any anxiety about offending me, don’t worry, because I literally won’t see. Your dash is your safe and happy spot, and if my content doesn’t jive with what you want to see…that’s fine with me.

I promise I will never ever call you out for not following/unfollowing and would only ever bring up the topic if I’m 99.9% sure it was a Tumblr error <3.

just because i don’t follow u back doesn’t mean i think u have a shitty blog. you might just have posts/fandoms/stuff i don’t really want on my dash. and hey, that’s fine. it’s YOUR tumblr you’re here for you and that’s goodgreatawesome

but please don’t think me not following you back means i hate u 5ever and that u can never inbox me or reply to my posts or follow me on twitter or something b/c that is not what it means at all

Since Halloween is rolling around I just wanna go ahead and say that dressing up as a naughty Catholic school girl is gross as hell.

When I was twelve years old I was afraid to walk the two blocks to and from school without my big brother because older boys and adult men leered at me and made comments about my uniform skirt from their porches.

Don’t sexualize uniforms made for and worn by exclusively school-aged children. Thanks.

can i extend this to include seifuku as well? ive definitely seen ‘naughty japanese schoolgirl’ as well

#i legit CRY at this commercial #it actually makes me CRY #boom-dee-ada-boom-dee-ada #i just love the fucking world okay? #sobbing now

I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT THIS COMMERCIAL

I was just thinking about these commercials and how I wanted one on my tumblr, and now here it is!

Awkward confession time: whenever I feel like the world is shit and I can’t keep dealing with it, I watch this and/or read about cool science things to remind me that it’s not all bad.

For all of you having bad days

This version has both songs

Always reblog.

If you don’t get a little misty watching it, you’re lying.

If you’re a white girl who stands for feminism and yet you won’t embrace the black lives matter movement, what are you doing…? If you aren’t excited as hell to see your sisters of color empowering themselves, you aren’t truly a feminist. The black lives matter movement is raising up women of color, and as a fellow WOMAN, that should make you fucking ecstatic
