there’s just something about stede bonnet as a character and also as a protagonist that’s so like. ugh. I can’t put it into words that’ll do it justice but they really made a story about a middle aged gay man who has lived his entire life in darkness, believing he wasn’t worthy of anything good or genuine, finally learning what love is and discovering himself and achieving freedom, after YEARS of being told over and over that he doesn’t deserve any of those things, through the act of loving and being loved. by another man. he is set free by his love for a man. they really fucking did this…..in a comedy show about pirates……I’m never going to emotionally recover from stede bonnet not ever ever ever. he is so so special to me
