Kirk & Spock fight scene but Mamma Mia is playing in the background
Ok two things
1. BANGER
2. Can we talk about how Spock really just… beats the shit out of Jim in this scene?
Like it’s exactly what Jim wanted to happen, and he barely reacts at the beginning because he’s getting the desired end result, but how quickly is Jim out of his depth? How quickly does he realize he cannot win this fight? How quickly does it become very real (and a little too late) self defense?
And no one even moves.
I often wonder what Bones is doing in this scene because he barely even reacts. Thoughts?
@anakinthetrashking “ #maybe bones is blue-screening bc his brain is trying to pull up too many pysch articles on trauma at one time “
I forgot what I was watching and started enthusiastically rocking out to mamma mia, then I heard choking sounds in the background and was like “what the FUCK is going on? Oh right,”
Shit ive never even NOTICED this before but Jim is gasping and coughing before Spock starts choking him - because Spock pUNCHES HIM IN THE THROAT. That’s what lands him with his back on the console. A punch to the throat, then immediate throttling??? He barely would’ve been able to gulp in a breath before the choking began, like with airway trauma you literally cant breathe either way for a solid few seconds, depending on severity. It’s a miracle he can talk AT ALL afterwards (stage fighting and Hollywood inaccuracies, i know, but still). Like he should sound hoarser than a fucking cheesegrater, if capable of speech at all, for at least a solid few hours afterwards. It’s a legit thing where no matter how big n strong you are, a punch to the throat wipes you tf OUT. That area is VULNERABLE. Anyway yeah I just never noticed that detail before, also fuck yeah abba fight scenes by beloved xx
