Geordi’s VISOR leaves him in constant pain, as his nerves are overwhelmed by the artificial impulses. Riker suffered a spinal injury as a teenager, and stress makes the pain of the problem that never quite healed right worse. After a grueling mission, they reflect on pain, disability, and what it means for them both.
