I have planned a new outfit: Unicorn’s Great San Francisco Spock Garb

So I just got a wonderful idea. I was watching clips from The Voyage Home and thinking about the time I went to San Francisco and got asked by an uber driver if I was a time traveller (I wear 19th century style dresses on the daily, btw. Mostly 1840s but that year I was kinda getting started so it was a bit all over the place). It’s already loads of fun going there and getting asked if I’m a time traveller bc I look like I’m oldtimey, but the next time I go there I might be staying multiple days, and I wanna have fun with it. I think I’m gonna try and sew Spock’s outfit and wear it around the city. Just for shits and giggles and my own personal enjoyment (which are some of the sentiments behind my favourite outfits, aside from aesthetically just fuckin slapping).

I am already collecting reference images. Fellow cosplayers, I wanna know a few things:

1. Is there a recommended pattern to use to make these robes? If so, where do I get it?
2. What does the patch at the closure near his shoulder say?
3. If you have made this outfit, any particular pieces of advice you would’ve liked to hear?

What are some alien health problems you would’ve liked to see Julian deal with? I’m writing a fic that’s about him just being a space doctor, and despite my enthusiasm for the subject, I’m struggling to think of many scenarios. So far I have

• A Klingon trying a VERY spicy Vulcan dish and having digestive problems
• A Ferengi ear exam
• Garak stopping by for space tiger balm bc his hands hurt from sewing in the cold too much

If you have an alien health issue/checkup big or small that could afflict someone on DS9 that you want to see in a fic but don’t want to write, please let me know! I’d love some more ideas :)

Okay, other places are failing miserably at this so I’m taking it here. Any recs for fat rep in fiction where the character’s arc doesn’t have anything to do with their fatness? (To be clear, there are fat creators who have done character arcs about fatness that I’ve enjoyed a lot! But sometimes you want fat people getting to simply exist, in the same way that I’ve loved queer coming out stories/stories about queer struggle but also love seeing queer stories where that isn’t present.) Can be novels, tv, film, doesn’t matter. I asked this elsewhere and got like the same five examples I already had in mind (Spy, Booksmart for film Gilmore Girls, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and High Maintenance for TV) and all that’s doing is depressing me and making me feel like there are truly only a handful of examples of this?!? Boost even if you can’t think of any. <3

So I tried making a blueberry and chocolate milk smoothie. In theory, berry chocolate combo is nice. In practice, I’m struggling with the texture of the berry skins. Is there a knack to making consistently textured smoothies? Or am I going to need to juice the berries before combining them with anything?
