Actually, I do have a talent! Math! (I know, nerd alert).

Need some help with that college algebra, calculus II, differential equations, AP calc, algebra II, etc? I’m your person! I tutored someone who had failed college algebra 4 times, and after studying with me, she got a B! I can help you turn that failing grade into a passing grade.

I’ve gotten A’s in most of these classes, B’s in the rest because of depression and procrastination, but not cuz I didn’t understand them.

And when I say I give a fuck, I give a fuck. I will help you study for tests, I will explain a concept to you until I’m positive you understand it the best you can, and I will celebrate with you when you pass your test (if you got test anxiety, I can’t help you there, but I’ll make certain you know the stuff you need to).

Fees start at $30 an hour, but will go up to $35 for weekend rates. I get how much you fucking hate math. That hate shouldn’t be on your transcript, though.

And if you need help in a class that I have yet to take, message me the class title and the subject you’re having difficulty with, and I’ll see if I can still help you out. If I can’t, I’ll apologize and move you along.

p.s. I’ll likely need to freshen up on the subject you need help with because math fades if you don’t practice it, but the time I spend relearning certain skills will not be included in your billed time.

Are you running Windows XP? Then please pay attention to this. (And if you’d feel like reblogging this to help people who follow you see it, and maybe save somebody some trouble… please feel free.)

Even though Microsoft hasn’t been supporting XP for several years, they have decided to make available for download a patch to keep XP machines from being infected by the WannaCrypt malware/ransomware that is attacking computers worldwide. Though this news is welcome, it’s surprising how many articles talking about it have failed to actually provide a link to the page where you can get the patch.

The download links for your specific flavor of XP are down in the last couple of paragraphs. (There are also patches there for Windows 8 (as opposed to 8.1) and other unsupported platforms.

Since XP is one of the main targets of the malware, it’s really important that you run this patch. The first wave of the malware’s attack seems to have crested a bit, but you need to block this particular loophole, as it’s only a matter of (a very little) time before the people behind the attacks retool and launch another wave.

Lots of people are running XP because they can’t afford to upgrade, or because they have specialist software that won’t run on later releases of Windows, or both. If you’re one of these people, please take action to protect yourself NOW. If seeing this keeps just one person from having to pay the slimy bastards behind this a few hundred dollars’ worth of bitcoin – or losing their precious files forever – it’ll be worth it.

PS: for the more tech-savvy among you, this article at Engadget makes a suggestion about rules to apply to your home router to make this kind of attack unable to get at you:  “ Consider adding a rule on your router or firewall to block incoming SMB traffic on port 445 “ If you have the expertise to do this, there’s surely no harm in it. Hey all, Jenn is a friend of a friend who has asked me to reach out and share this on tumblr. Her fb, including a photo of her and her son (a child), have been shared on the Daily Stormer calling her out as antifa and targeting her for violence. Please help us report this to the FBI.

Hey, guys. So I’m a trans man and I’ve always been on the bigger size. I’m cleaning out my closet of my more feminine clothing (skirts, blouses, dress pants, a couple of shoes) and I would like to give them to fellow members of the trans community. My pant/skirt size is about 28 (women)/4x/54 (men). My shirt size is about 3x. Shoe size is women’s 11, men’s 9. 

I do have at least 2 gently used bras, and those are 44B, so if anyone wants those, I’d be happy to get rid of them.

I know it can be rough to get new clothing when you’re transitioning, especially for bigger folks. I’m going to preface this post with a content warning. This post is about child abuse. The video I’m going to link includes actually video footage of child abuse. It is one of the most upsetting videos I have ever watched. My post includes in depth descriptions of child abuse. 

This morning I watched a Youtube video discussing and highlighting what is happening on another Youtube channel. If you have the stomach for it, I’d suggest watching the video because Phillip DeFranco does a much better job of summarizing the situation than I can. 

For those of you who can’t watch, I’ll give you a very brief rundown. 

The Youtube channel DaddyOfFive is a combination family vlog and prank channel. In a recent video, the parents pull a prank where they pour invisible ink on one of the kid’s floors and then make him think that they believe he poured ink all over the floor. They scream and swear at this little boy, shouting things like “What the fuck did you do?” while the boy cries and cowers, looking genuinely terrified. Even the best child actors could not pull off looking as genuinely devastated as this child does. 

As DeFranco highlights in his video, although all the children are pranked, it seems that this one child (Cody) takes the brunt of the cruelty. In many videos he is seen being hit, kicked, pushed, and pinned down by his older siblings. In one video his father pushes him face first into a book case. In one video Cody begs his family to stop, saying that he’s tired of this. In another video his parents scream at him and tell him he’s the only one in the family who can’t “take a joke”. 

In response to some of the flak they have been getting, the parents uploaded a video about “Blocking All The Haters”. They goad the children into saying on camera that they aren’t being abused. Now keep in mind, the kids have been told that all the “Cool stuff” they have been getting is because of the Youtube channel. They know that if the pranks stop, the cool stuff goes away. Most of the children chime in that they are not being abused. Cody hardly says anything. The oldest boy says, “At least you aren’t beating us”. 

What is happening to Cody is child abuse. It is emotional, psychological and physical abuse. It is torture. And the worst part of it all is that it is monetized. The parents are being paid by advertisers to abuse this child under the guise of “It’s just a prank, bro”. 

So what can we do?

First of all, we can report the videos on DaddyOfFive’s channel for containing depictions of child abuse. If you decide to help by doing this, please be sure to flag the specific instances of abuse such as Cody being pushed or the parents screaming vulgarities at the children. 

Second of all, we can let the companies advertising on this channel know that we won’t be buying anything from a company that sponsors videos of child abuse. 

Finally, if anyone knows this family in person, they can make a report to CPS. Now the family is claiming that they’ve already been investigated and “cleared” by CPS, but that’s not how this works. Repeated reports mean repeated investigations. You do not give up and look the other way when a child is being abused just because CPS failed to act the first time. When my neighbors were abusing their children, I had to call CPS every week for over a month before something was done. Don’t give up.
