Hi! I’m a fan of your blog and wanted to share my little guys story :)

This is Rhody, and I adopted him on day 3 of my summer veterinary internship. A man brought him in having found him outside with a left front leg that is twisted and non weight-bearing. Above, are his x-rays where you can see how his elbow was fractured and healed incorrectly.

Next week he’ll have a pretty intense orthopedic surgery to place pins in his leg to correct his bone arrangement as much as possible. It is unlikely to completely fix his leg function but it will improve his function from where it is at the moment. He’s been nothing but a lovely little guy to have and I’m happy I’m able to give him a great life whether he ever gains function of his leg or not.

Anyways, I was thinking that if anyone wanted to donate or reblog this post to help share Rhody’s story, here is the gofundme link I put up to help offset the heavy costs of everything he needs - vaccines, x-ray, ear mite and flea treatment, heartworm prevention, neuter, and of course this big surgery- https://www.gofundme.com/help-get-rhody-on-his-feet

Thank you!!

Hi. So. My 15 y.o niece recently started binding. Dunno if it’s bc she plans to change her pronouns or anything. Not really my business unless she plans on telling me. BUT. I know she’s currently borrowing binders that don’t fit her well and I can’t let her injure herself. So could I get some suggestions for good websites I find comprehensively sized binders??

Also is it okay for her to start binding so young? I’m only worried bc she’s literally still growing and I don’t want her to hurt her lungs or do any long term damage.

Any info you have to help me help her would be great. Thanks friends ❤

I saw a sad facebook post from the gay bookstore back in Ann Arbor where I used to live about how they hadn’t sold any books that day so I went on their online store and bought a couple, and while you don’t get #deals like elsewhere online, I’d love it if y’all would consider buying your next gay book from them instead of like, Amazon.

their latest fb post! ;)

GUYS GUYS GUYS!!

This fabulous bookstore turns out to have several of my books in stock!!

In paperback, you can get Ravenfall (paranormal thriller with gay protagonists) and The Adventure of the Colonial Boy (canon-era Sherlock/Watson).

They also have Kobo books of Ravenfall and Colonial Boy, Birds of a Feather and Near Miss (lesbian romance short stories) along with other books and short stories of mine.

They ALSO have Atlin Merrick’s The Night they Met and the Improbable Press anthology, A Mumuring of Bees, in paperback and for Kobo

If you’d like to support both my writing, and Atlin’s, and this lovely store, please consider buying from them!

They also have my book, Zero at the Bone, as well as the German translation.

everyone, especially trans lesbians and gay trans men, should be sure to block & report a blog that’s shown up here recently called “youre-not-passing” which reblogs mostly trans lesbian and gay trans men’s selfies with nothing but insults and deliberate misgendering. quite a few members of our community have already been targeted by the terf running the blog, along with their followers. please be on the lookout and be safe. if enough people report them, hopefully their blog will be removed, but in the meantime i advise you all to block the blog so that you’re not targeted, i also encourage everyone to reach out to those who have been targeted and make sure they’re okay and give them some love and validation. be safe y'all

also PLEASE reblog this and share with other people so they’re aware !!!! i just wanna make sure everyone’s safe

Hey trans day of visibility is coming up soon (March 31st) and there’s going to be a lot of selfies posted so please signal boost this post

Unpaywall: a search-engine for authorized, freely accessible versions of scholarly journal articles

Unpaywall is a service that indexes open access repositories, university, government and scholarly society archives, and other sources that make articles available with authorization from the rightsholders and journals – about 47% of the articles that its users seek.

It runs as a browser extension that adds notifier to your browser window when you load a scholarly article, with an icon that tells you whether there’s an open access fulltext, and whether it’s “green” or “gold” OA.

It won’t replace Sci-Hub’s near-complete archive of scholarly publications, but it’s a useful adjunct that avoids the hassle of digging up whichever the current working Sci-Hub mirror is.
