this is really important so i’m posting it here because it’ll probably get removed and the original poster may be banned, but this is literal documentation and proof that terfs and transphobes are directly connected to the far-right and have roots in racism, homophobia, misogyny, and antisemitism. it really is all part of the same oppressive system, so there is no disconnecting transphobia from conservatism. there is no such thing as a progressive transphobe as much as they may want you to believe. it has nothing to do with biology or protecting women or children, none of it is founded in science or logic, it is purely hatred and saying otherwise is only an attempt to justify bigotry.

I’m actually super glad we’re having a conversation about this. The masculinization of black and brown women, because for years I felt like I endured this unique form of trauma until I realized other people went through the same thing too. And if there’s one thing that I’d like to add to the conversation, there seems to be this misconception that this is something that starts at puberty. Like boys tell you you look like a man to hurt your feeling when that’s so far from the case.
The first time I was purposefully misgendered was in kindergarten. I was constantly referred to by the masculine variant of my name, I was chased out of the women’s restroom, and I had grown adults questioning what my biological sex was before I even knew what the difference was. And those behaviors persisted into adulthood because now if I present as anything less than 100% feminine, people will either compare me to men or animals.
And for myself and for many other brown and black women this is a life long act deliberately intended to humiliate, shame, and other us for the features we were naturally born with and I’m glad we’re having a discussion on how harmful it actually is.]
hot take: the lgbtq+ community maybe, just maybe, should take a long look at the racism in the community that’s extremely present and everybody is closing their eyes. Everybody is talking about belonging and being accepted when black lgbtq+ people are still being harassed everyday from inside and out of the community and y’all are just looking the other way.
here’s a reminder: if you’re acting like this and looking the other way or actively asking people of color to stop talking about the issue, you’re a big part of the problem.
But it’s worth mentioning that the second I saw the panel with the cop, my heart dropped, and it’s a shame that this is the initial reaction that I have towards cops interacting with POC
The fact that the notes are filled with non-Black people who suddenly got worried when they saw the cop ….. in an illustrated story.
Now try imagining how hard it is irl for Black mothers, and Black people in general. Each encounter with the police could end with our death, even if we did absolutely nothing wrong.
I think most of us deal with it—bc let’s face it, we have no other choice—but I’d be lying if I said that every single time I come into close proximity to the police, somewhere in the back of my mind there wasn’t always the thought: “what if …”
“what if today is the day” … “what if this cop had a bad morning” … “what if this cop doesn’t like black people” … “what if he thinks my phone is a gun” … “what if he thinks I’m acting suspicious” … “what if he needs to fill a quota” … “what if he mistakes me for some nondescript black man but I fit the description anyway” … “what if my car insurance payment didn’t go through and I don’t know about it” … “what if I have a taillight out” …. “what if he thinks I have a bad attitude” … “what if it was a rough day for me and I do have a bad attitude” … “what if there’s not even any cops around but a white person thinks I look out of place” … what if what if what if
Obviously I cannot speak for everyone who is Black, but these thoughts flash through my mind every single time I see a cop. Every time. Maybe it only takes a microsecond, but it’s always there. Always.
LOL. I know we may make it look easy. But yeah, it’s still there.
And even though I’m very healthy and I manage to … adapt(?) to those fears, I figure that kind of constant on/off stress has gotta be taking some kind of toll on me, right? On Black people in general. It’s like perpetually unexpected games of Russian roulette. Or maybe like the Spanish Inquisition. (No one ever expects it).
Sometimes I wonder if white people understand the constant extra calculations that Black people are doing continuously as we’re out and about. Calculations for any contingency encounter with the police. Or with some white person who might call the police because they’ve mistaken my melancholy mood for “suspicious” behavior. Calculations that white people don’t ever need to do. At least, not because of simply being in the general proximity of the police.
it’s racist to criticize other cultures for consuming an animal that white people arbitrarily decided shouldn’t be eaten. asserting that white culture and white norms are superior to those of poc is white supremacy.
for anyone in the notes going “hahuhuh im vegan no animals should be eaten at all 😏” you realize you’re still being racist right. like declaring other cultures’ eating habits as morally wrong is still racist you understand this yes?
One of the things that’s already begun to happen is the mass exodus of white people from affluent cities and neighborhoods into the hood due to covid unemployment. And thus the mass gentrification process has begun.
And it is gentrification by the way. Y’all have to kill this idea that white people who’ve fallen on harder times aren’t gentrifiers. They absolutely are.
Look at the asks I’m getting. You can litterally see where the gentrification starts.
The framing of everything is “why are you being mean to these poor, sad, destitute, white people!? They have no choice but to move into these poor neighborhoods!” The expectation is for me to feel sorry for white people who are coming to live….in a place I already live.
Once again, the neighborhoods y’all move into when you struggle are the neighborhoods we grow up in. My neighborhood is so black, dominoes won’t deliver after the sun goes down. But you know what? We’re happy and feel lucky to be here. You know why? Because we know what you don’t know and that’s that 2 streets down is the hood. And 4 streets down from that is the projects. So we’re happy to be in our little black neighborhood.
But you? You move in full of despair. You hate being here. You feel at a disadvantage to be here. You hate our culture. You hate our cookouts, our loud music, the bass at 4 am rolling through, the weed smell, the fact that we leave our dogs chained up outside, the fact that we have pitbulls, the fact that we don’t really cut the grass like that, you bemoan everything about us.
And as more of your cracker friends move in you cling together. You don’t know our names but you look at us like we’re the intruders in our own neighborhoods, you start talking shit, you start wanting to “make improvements”, and worst of all you start calling the fucking police.
So we start getting arrested, assaulted, more of you move in, our rent goes up, we move out, you’re building a “home owners association,” you’ve got us all too scared to listen to our music or cook out anymore, the rent goes up some more, we leave, more of you move in, and suddenly our little black neighborhood that wasn’t the nicest but not the worst is full of white faces. White faces that peer at the few black people left. You make them so miserable they’ll leave anyway.
And all of this? Big money hasn’t even touched it yet. You bring gentrification with you as a poor white because you bring racism with you. You bring your privilege and upwards mobility with you. You bring your “improvement” mindset with you.
So no. I don’t feel sorry for poor white people at all.
Fuck y’all. Stay out of my neighborhood and go live with the white trash.
“A TERF is a white supremacist whose gateway to white supremacy is anti-trans bigotry, instead of anti-Semitism or anti-Blackness or anti-migration or misogyny. As with any gateway, many people engaging in this ideology may not be aware of their proximity to white supremacy. This is the standard radicalization pathway that we have seen over and over and over with, for example, anti-Islamic sentiment. Personally, [I] find it is most comparable to how anti-Semitism gateways are used. Often, we see white supremacists exploiting legitimate grievances with the financial systems by turning into an anti-Semitic issue. White supremacists take legitimately frustrated and class-oppressed people’s anger at banks, and carefully plant the seeds of anti-Semitism. They’ll point out the irrefutable fact that there exist Jewish people in executive positions in banking and vilely twist this. TERFs take a legitimate grievance: patriarchal oppression of women and homophobia and turn it into a movement based on systematic exclusion of a specific class of people. This is the redpill. [We] need to stop the good-faith engagements with their ideology and start treating it like the gateway to white supremacy that it is.”
I don’t think a lot of people understand that transphobia is, in fact, inherently racist.
it never would have occurred to me that transphobia has roots in racism or that TERFs are a gateway into white supremacy.
information like this is vital.
It’s inherently racist because it assumes all cultures follow the western concept of the absolute gender binary rooted in what genitals you have.
It’s also racist because it defines womanhood using conventionally attractive white women as the baseline.
Women who have facial hair, have thick or “excessive” body hair, have broad shoulders, have “masculine” facial features like angular jaws, have deep voices, are taller than “average”, have receding hairlines, are muscular, etc are immediately assumed to be men because they don’t fit white European ideals of womanhood. And these standards do affect white women of course, whether they’re cis or trans, but they mostly target Black and brown women.
There’s a reason why Black women, particularly athletes, are the ones who get targeted with so many accusations of being men. Why they’re expected to undergo hormone testing. Why they’re accused of having “excessive” testosterone. Why they’re expected to undergo physical examinations to “prove” that they’re “real” women.
Radical feminism, trans inclusive or not, is based around biological essentialist white supremacy whether radfems want to admit it or not.
call me ignorant but i genuinely don’t understand why sports have to be split up by gender.
@ everyone in the notes talking about physical performance: if that were the case, then sports would be divided by physical performance. that’s a thing you can measure. that’s a thing that varies by individual. a weak man and a strong man would be an unfair fight in boxing/wrestling/MMA, which is why they divide those sports up into weight groups based on physical performance. but they also further segregate them based on gender. chess is segregated by gender for no reason but sexism. if it’s actually about skill and physical ability, then measure those and separate people by those metrics. don’t do some bullshit gender segregation and pretend like men and women are inherently on different levels no matter their individual abilities.
💅
Remember that time a teenage girl struck out Babe Ruth? That’s fucking why. Men are afraid of being beaten by women.
this is why they drug test Serena like crazy. the believe no woman should be that good. let alone a black woman.
and black women have always been considered “manly” and less feminine.
also can we talk about how surfing is segregated as well? like how the dude who won this years international surfing cup or whatever was given $30,000 worth of prize money, while the woman who won the women’s comp was only awarded like $16,000 of prize money???? or whatever it was. but I know it was either half or less than half of what the man won. like why can’t they get the same prize money and when they’re competing internationally in the same competition? they surely have the same level of skill and talent.
the pay gap in sports between men and women is fucking insane.
The pay gaps, not to mention lack of sponsorships for women athletes who don’t look like models is insane. If you weigh over 250 pounds, no one will sponsor you. It’s why most female Olympic-class weightlifters live in poverty/out of their cars.
Reminder that in international (and usually national too) womens athletics anybody with 5m/mol of natural testosterone or higher is disqualified. (See legal case of Dutee Chand vs IAAF.)
Do you or somebody you know have PCOS? You are banned from international womens athletics because you are supposedly in posession of an unreasonable advantage in sports.
Folks disqualified for hyper-androgenism in womens athletics.
Francine Niyonsaba
Caster Semenya
Dutee Chand
Margaret Wambui
And more

Why are those disqualified overwhelmingly black and brown? Because testing is case by case when an athletes performance “raises suspicions”. They overwhelmingly test athletes of colour, for being too fast and not meeting white expectations of femininity.
Racism and intersexism(discrimination against intersex people) in sports is abject evil. Desegregate sports.
bringing this back in light of the blatant racism and misogynoir in the olympics
“They overwhelmingly test athletes of colour, for being too fast and not meeting white expectations of femininity.”
I know hostile architecture is a specific thing, but I can’t help but feel that literally almost all cities are pretty innately hostile to humans living there. We already live in the world of Cars basically.
car centric infrastructure is like, inherently tied into environmental racism and segregation and trying to push the lower/working class out of existence entirely. no or little public transit pushes poor people off to the margins in car centric areas because they can’t afford it while at the same time cutting off their access to jobs because they can’t commute, and ofc theres the history of paving freeways right through working class and especially black/brown neighborhoods instead of investing in infrastructure that grants people equitable access to and ability to commute within high density areas where they would have heightened access to various types of public spaces (libraries, parks, ANY public service) and jobs
and even in places where public transit exists it can still be weaponized against the poor - last year the mayor of chicago literally was able to flip switches and cut off access to the city by putting up every bridge and shutting down every train between the merchandise/shopping district / rich people’s high rises and the working class who live in surrounding neighborhoods as a punishment for protesting (these bridges and trains being shut down also meant no one downtown that doesnt live there actually had the ability to adhere to the city wide curfew put into effect because they couldn’t get home, making mass arrests easy for the police)
