Thinking about Ed after Stede left writing that song about desperately hanging on, and Lucius saying it might be better to let go. Lucius didn’t know that what Ed was clinging to was his humanity, the person he had become through Stede.

I do think a lot of what pushed Ed into embracing the kraken again was Izzy and his own pain. But I wonder how much was Lucius telling him to let go.
