And let’s not forget after they have a little chat at their ~usual table~ where we get the fondest of smiles from Julian as soon as Garak leaves and joyfully intercepts a customer in the background:
Love the idea of Garak secretly making Julian a shirt or something but never giving it to him. Then Julian walks into the shop wanting something new and Garak is like all nonchalant “try this doctorrr” and Julian is like “wow this fits perfectly” and buys it and goes on his merry way clueless.
I wonder if Garak packed a small bag when he left DS9 with Kira for the last time, because he knew he was never coming back. Or if he just decided he didn’t need *anything* to remind him of exile.
I think he packs a few small things to remind him of Julian and Ziyal. He is a highly sentimental lizard even tho he denies it.
