I still read all of your lovely replies! I have not given up on art my friends! I have even started my own webcomic on webtoon! It’s called Seth In Space and it would mean a lot to me if you would support me there! Love you all and happy halloween!!
I’m so happy to tell you all that I’ve made great progress with my mental health!! To genuinely be able to say that I feel happy is so liberating and free! I know a lot of you are still in that dark place. I’m here to say that it does get better. Much better! I still have some tough days but progress is progress! Be kind and gentle to yourselves. I love you all and thank you to everyone who’s supported me over the years!
Not really committing to Inktober this year due to other commitments, but I love this challenge so I’m going to do some little drawings when I have time:)
Slam that motherfucking like button if you support his Halloween spirit; reblog if you think dirty orange gel pens you found in a cup are valid forms of ink; ignore of you’re a nerd who knows shit about “shading” and “colouring everything in” and “what day it is”.
I ended up redrawing this because our boss wanted us to make Halloween decorations.
Maggie had to cut it out because we didn’t have any lefty scissors, and Will glued it to paper because he got yelled at for not helping.
I love him and support him and he is the most valid thing ever
One thing I will never understand is why Americans are so hyped about Halloween.
SAME???? WHAT IS IT ABOUT HALLOWEEN?????
I think it’s probably a combination of:
positive childhood memories
excuse to eat a lot of candy
excuse to dress up in crazy outfits
traditions that have built up positive connotations like carving silly pumpkins and watching certain movies like Hocus Pocus, Nightmare Before Christmas or Rocky Horror Picture Show
and the fun of reveling in the macabre and generally “dark” stuff. Yes, you can do that all year, but Halloween in special. Christmas has become the season of cheer, generosity and gift giving–sure, you can do those things at other times, but this is a celebration of those things. In the same way, Halloween is a celebration of all things dark and spooky and horrifying.
It’s also one of the few “holidays” with an emphases on fun, without any real family or romantic obligations. Thanksgiving and Christmas and Easter can be great, but they can also be really stressful for people who have difficult or complex relationships with their families. Valentines Day and New Years have become, “Oh no! I need to get a date for that day or else I’m a loser!”
Halloween? Do whatever the fuck you want. Dress in a sexy costume, stay out all night, eat a bunch of stuff that isn’t good for you, or just have a 10 hour scary movie marathon with your friends. Cover your house with cobwebs and bats and fake blood and anything else that would probably get you the side-eye from your neighbors the rest of the year.
You know how the Addams Family are into all of this creepy and weird stuff but are so damn happy about it? Halloween is basically a holiday inspired by and dedicated to them, where we all take a little time to revel in their way of life and learn from their example. So that, like with Christmas, we’re reminded to keep that spirit of fun and non-conformity alive all year.
my little sister just found out at school that you can create a religion and wants me to help her turn Halloween into a year long religion. And i never knew i wanted this until now. We will be the Halloween Cult. I am so ready for this.
My sister came up with some cult rules.
Do not deny the spooky.
Be nice to children.
Don’t be pressuring others into the religion, if they don’t want to hear leave them alone.
Every second Wednesday of each month is Pumpkin Worship, that is when you eat pumpkin flavored things, carve pumpkins, or burn pumpkin spice scented candles. Just embrace the pumpkin.
Don’t be mean to other people for reasons they can’t control, but hey if they are doing it on purpose just to annoy you, destroy them.
No touch other people if they don’t want you to, this includes hair.
Halloween is a holy day, embrace it and become one with the spooky.
Costumes are an everyday thing, but sometimes it can be inappropriate, be aware of when to embrace the spooky and when to just be a little spooky.
Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t be spooky, and if they do tell you then they don’t know what they’re talking about. You can be all the spooky all you want.
Be nice to animals.
Be ready to help others when you can but still remember that you need to put your needs first.
You are spooky, you are amazing, you are fabulous. Say it.
idk but i think we need more, go ask you internet nerd friends.
can yall think of anything else?
OKay i asked her how one would join the cult and she said to light a jack-o-lantern on a full moon then yodel into the night for the pumpkin king and if he approves you, you will hear someone yell “stut the fuck up” then you are part of the cult.
