you just know there were no such thing as good grades at Enabren Tain’s School For Turning Lizard Toddlers Into Black Widow . his grown adult forty-year-old son comes to see him and he’s like a seamstress now and makes pretty good money at it and tain points to his shirt like “did you make that?” and he’s like “yeah :) i did :)” and tain’s like “well the neckline sucks” you know the best you could ever hope to get graded was C-, this grade-school spy shows no initiative re: poison testing and cannot sneak around my house adequately despite years of practice trying to get at the snacks, which he knows are for me
GARAK QUESTION: do you think he’s only an assassin or do you think he’s killed for superficial or personal reasons also?
imagine garak finds out what an earth lizard is and gets a tiny pet gecko
it sleeps on his shoulder while he works in his shop and when he catches anyone who sees him pet it affectionately and coo at it he gives them his most terrifying death glare
Attention DS9!
I know this is hard to hear but Elim Garak is not who he seems to be and has actually done some super problematic things in the past. He has:
- Worked as a spy for the Obsidian Order
- Assassinated multiple people
- Tried to genocide the entire changling race
- Is a known liar and even lied to Sisko
Just because you like him as a tailor does not mean he is a good person. I’ll add additional information as it comes up…..Please signal boost this post!
You know what? Fuck these whisper campaigns against honest businessmen. I guarantee that you can’t prove any of this. Like: “oh, he was a gardener at the Romulan Embassy on Tzenkith, and then six months later the ambassador died.” That’s called circumstantial evidence. You just hate to see a lizardboss win.
losing my goddamn mind at the idea of garak calling himself a ‘lithe and fuckable tailor’
i’m sorry you have such negative feelings about me killing all those people 🙄
honestly i think you’re being kind of oversensitive about it
Crimson Shadow spoilers. This is just too funny not to share XD This book is a delight.

“Garak,” Picard said, “I cannot be involved in the removal of the democratically elected leader of another government—”
“No?” Garak looked disappointed. “Why, Captain—you’re no fun at all.” He sniffed. “Sisko would have been willing.”
“Yes, well—I’m not Benjamin Sisko.”
Garak gave a measureless smile. “Indeed, no! No, you’re not! But you need not trouble yourself. I believe that I may yet be able to persuade the castellan to fall upon her sword.” He gestured around the room. “You have merely provided the setting for the crime, Captain. Fear not. Someone else will commit it.”
“You know that I’d like to believe that,” said Picard. “But you’re not that persuasive, Ambassador Garak.”

to me what makes “the wire” stand out so much is that in a lot of other episodes where julian plays the medical hero there’s always this air of casual arrogance, this air of the noble, scientifically-advanced doctor who swoops in and saves the day with his enlightened knowledge and superior technology (and to their credit, the show does problematize this aspect of his character in episodes like “the quickening” where that arrogance costs lives), or, in the episode where his laudable desire to help the jem’hadar break their addiction is utterly at odds with the reality of war, his character and his lofty aspirations are contrasted sharply with the experiences of soldiers like miles o’brien. in each of these episodes, julian has to confront his illusions about himself and the power granted him by his rank, his skills and his intelligence. but in “the wire”? he’s not trying to prove or disprove anything. he’s not interested in cracking the code on cardassian neurochemistry or writing a paper on garak’s implant - he simply wants to save garak’s life. and that’s what makes garak x bashir so powerful, especially in that episode - when confronted with garak’s pain, julian drops the masks he usually hides behind. he’s not the high-nosed doctor or benevolent savior - he’s just trying to save someone he cares about, at great personal risk, without even a thought about reward or recognition, so that person can sit across his table at the replimat again. it’s julian bashir at his most selfless (imho) - and his most honest. and garak just brings it out of him, just by being garak (and all that being garak implies), which i think scares garak a little bit too. anyway…
im-garashir-trash-deactivated20:
