So I got tired of not seeing any news on HRC’s actual positions because every single media outlet is busy fact-checking Trump’s latest Twitter tantrum, and decided to look some up.
Also, tired of stories about 26-year-olds complaining that they can’t get behind Clinton because they don’t know what she stands for, and also have no idea who Ralph Nader is, even though these frickin’ kids are only two years younger than me and also Wikipedia exists
omg you guys, her plans for addressing autism. Note the total absence of the word “curing.” It’s all about “providing support” and “early diagnosis” and “improving access” and “increasing opportunities.”
You know how otherwise work-ready people sometimes get stuck as unpaid caregivers when a family member becomes sick or disabled? Well, Hillary wants to give those people credit where credit is due.
She’s planning to upgrade our 25 most costly freight bottlenecks
Did you know our country had a cost issue with freight bottlenecks?
Because I had no idea
and this happens over and over with her policies
things you didn’t even know were things
but Hermione Rodham Clinton has already looked up the statistics, talked to the experts, and written the ten-page memo
and listen, voting for HRC for no other reason than to keep Trump and his tax-evading business-bankrupting employee-stiffing racist sexist across-the-board-hateful loose-cannon general inanity out of office is completely legitimate –
but if I never see another “why don’t we know more about her plans?? it is a hopeless unsolvable mystery for the ages!” post again it will be too soon.
This is the conscience I’m voting.
And also: which of the two candidates capable of winning this election would you rather have sitting next to the briefcase with the nuclear codes?
I don’t know about you, but from where I’m sitting, and after eight years of obstruction by the party controlling the legislative arm, it’s (to use the OP’s apt metaphor) a Hermione we need in the White House right now. Not a Draco.
(ETA: Okay, Draco is an imperfect analogy. But: the son-of-a-privileged-(rich)-dad, whiny-entitled-toady-surrounded-bully type, that was what I was reaching for…)
Star
Trek has always offered a positive vision of the future, a vision of
hope and optimism, and most importantly, a vision of inclusion, where
people of all races are accorded equal respect and dignity, where
individual beliefs and lifestyles are respected so long as they pose no
threat to others. We cannot turn our backs on what is happening in the
upcoming election. Never has there been a presidential candidate who
stands in such complete opposition to the ideals of the Star Trek
universe as Donald Trump. His election would take this country backward,
perhaps disastrously. We need to elect a president who will move this
country forward into the kind of future we all dream of: where personal
differences are understood and accepted, where science overrules
superstition, where people work together instead of against each other.
The resolution of conflicts on Star Trek was never easy. Don’t remain
aloof –vote! We have heard people say they will vote Green or
Libertarian or not at all because the two major candidates are equally
flawed. That is both illogical and inaccurate. Either Secretary Clinton
or Mr. Trump will occupy the White House. One is an amateur with a
contemptuous ignorance of national laws and international realities,
while the other has devoted her life to public service, and has deep and
valuable experience with the proven ability to work with Congress to
pass desperately needed legislation. If, as some say, the government is
broken, a protest vote will not fix it.
Have you just turned 18?
Have you moved? Have you never voted before? Some states have early
registration (early October) and/or absentee ballots. You can’t vote if
you are not registered. So make it so. Go to https://www.rockthevote.com
, a non-profit, non-partisan organization, and fulfill your civic duty.
Because, damn it, you are a citizen of the USA, with an obligation to
take part in our democracy! Do this not merely for yourself but for all
the generations that follow. Vote for a future of enlightenment and
inclusion, a future that will someday lead us to the stars.

This is what I was thinking too! How could her actions as Sec of State have caused ISIS to form* if it has been around her entire adult life? Was she 17 years old five years ago? Is he even paying attention to what he is saying?

what you say: i'm voting third party

what i hear: i have a fundamental misunderstanding of how american politics work and also enough privilege to realize that my life won't be that bad should trump actually win

Donald Trump, a man who has never been elected to any public office, just tried to describe the Presidency to Hillary Clinton, the most over qualified candidate in the history of our country.
I cannot believe that Donald Trump is a presidential candidate and people are still undecided between he and the Hillary Clinton. The woman who is standing up there and clearly, effortlessly refuting all his bullshit, who understands what needs to be done, and who knows how government works.
Flawed though she may be, there is a perfectly clear choice in this election.
This man knows nothing. He has answered no questions with anything relevant. This is bullshit, circular nonsense and childishness. We cannot have this man-baby running the country. This is ridiculous.
That sound you hear is the entire Democratic Party exhaling. Hillary Clinton commanded the first debate by letting Trump shoot himself in the foot over and over again, keeping her cool as he repeatedly interrupted her and continued to lie about his past positions. A representative exchange came about midway through the debate, when Clinton turned to Trump’s history as a businessman.
