It absolutely destroys me to think about how excited and in love Ed was immediately post kiss scene. The second he makes the decision to lean forward and kiss Stede, it’s like the floodgates open. Ed touches him the entire rest of the scene like he can’t bear to not be touching him any longer. The hand on Stede’s face, then his back. When the camera moves further away we can see Ed holding Stede’s hand. How long was he wanting to do that? Did he show up at the beach planning to confess his love, or was he just finally so overcome that he couldn’t hold it back anymore???

Lucius was so firmly in Stede’s corner with his relationship with Ed, always getting Ed to see how stupid he was being and how he was hurting Stede, demanding better of him for his friend. And every time, he watched Ed make up for his mistakes with hugely meaningful gestures. He saw Ed put himself in danger and then throw away his life to save Stede. And then after all that, he saw the devastating fallout of STEDE breaking ED’S heart.

I know Lucius is gonna be pissed off at Ed for The Incident, but I would love to see him be pissed off at Stede too. Like “WHAT the FUCK did you DO to that TINY SWEET MAN who ADORED you?! After all my hard work getting him to be better for you, YOU threw it away?! YOU BROKE HIM. YOU BROKE THE SOFT KIND MAN SO BAD HE TRIED TO KILL ME!!!”
