Hey Everyone TLDR my girlfriend lives with a man child of a father who is emotionally manipulative & causes her constant stress. He threatens to kick her out constantly, but any time she’s made plans to move he guilts her into staying by saying she’s abandoning him. He recently quit his job on a whim, & started drinking significantly more, & after telling him she decided to stop going to school, he said he was fine with it. But now only a few weeks later, he told her she needs to start paying him 1500$ in rent per MONTH, or she can’t live with him. He doesn’t work & is not actively looking for work, & is now forcing his daughter, who works part time at a laundromat & does occasional commission work, to pay him over a thousand dollars a month, which he is very aware she cannot do.
I’m not gonna ask for help to pay those absolutely Insane & unnecessary bills. But I am going to ask for help in getting her out of there. She’s been saving up every check she makes recently, & is just trying to get an apartment. I don’t know how but my father found out I’m gay or at least he’s very suspicious of me being a lesbian and he beat the shit out of me yesterday and now I’m at my grandma’s fearing for my life lol I bought a flight ticket to get back home bc im still in morocco & my flight is due tomorrow and luckily there’s a LGBT refuge in Brussels that has opened in July so I think I’m gonna apply to move there. I really wanted to die yesterday but nah im gonna live bc lesbians ain’t quitters!!!! lesbians don’t die and I’m gonna live bitch
but now I have to drop out of uni and find a job because my f*ther clearly said that he won’t pay for my tuition fees nor my therapy sessions (and im on meds so that really sucks) & im not a minor anymore im 23 he legally doesnt owe me anything so if anyone who also lives in Brussels/Belgium knows some place where I can reach for help that would be very helpful and nice of you !!!

A couple of days ago, Berlin started acting strangely—vomiting, not
eating, and acting very tired. While I initially thought it might just
be a bad hairball, when I took her to the vet, they found out that she
had swallowed something she shouldn’t have—we think it might be a set of
headphones. It’s caused an infection, and her kidneys have shut down.
The vet is currently doing what he can for her, but even if she manages
to pull through tonight, I’m still looking at a surgery that will cost
at least a thousand dollars.
I’ve just moved, and this expense on
top of everything else leaves me in a pretty tight spot, especially
with about $2k of rent and bills due just from regular living expenses.
I’ve already paid a $500 vet bill, and the costs are only going to go
up from here. Any little bit will help.
Berlin has been with me
for six years now, and one of my best friends in the entire world. I’ll
drop whatever cost I need to save her, if she has a chance, but that
could end up being a ton of money.
I really appreciate you taking

Update: her kidneys have started up again!! That’s amazing news, and means the worst is over. However, it also means that she’ll need surgery first thing tomorrow morning, which will be pretty pricey. Thank you all so much for your donations and signal boosts already, but I wanted to give everyone an update.
Update 2: the surgery went better than we could have even expected! I can’t believe we went from spending last night pretty sure she wasn’t going to make it to her sulking in the vet’s kennels making a promising recovery. I visited her today, and the vet is hopeful she’ll be able to come home tomorrow.
I’m so overwhelmed by all the love and support you guys have shown us. I’ll be sure to post some pics of Her Grumpiness once she gets home—maybe even in a cone of shame. ;)
Update 3: she’s still recovering from surgery, and looking a lot better, but her bloodwork still isn’t looking great, and she’s still very twitchy (which is apparently caused by low glucose). Still, she was happy to see me, and I heard her purr for the first time since all of this started! Sadly, she won’t be able to come home today; we have to wait until her bloodwork stabilizes, which I’m hoping will be tomorrow.

Hi guys. I know you all are so annoyed with me but I need help. This month has been exceedingly difficult for me financially and my new job does not begin until next Monday. I’ve been trying to get temp work and nothing has come through.
I’ve been dealing with horrible anxiety about this and this was literally the last thing I wanted to do. I’m sorry if I’m being a burden but I need help. I’m truly trying my best here. And I know that not many of you care about me or my situation, but I’m just asking that you please help me just this once.
You guys, please help me. I haven’t received anything yet and I’m growing desperate. I have no idea how I’m gonna pay my rent next week. I need $800 by the 4th but even if I can get up to $400 that would be great. I don’t want to be kicked out of my apartment.

Hi! I’m a fan of your blog and wanted to share my little guys story :)
This is Rhody, and I adopted him on day 3 of my summer veterinary internship. A man brought him in having found him outside with a left front leg that is twisted and non weight-bearing. Above, are his x-rays where you can see how his elbow was fractured and healed incorrectly.
Next week he’ll have a pretty intense orthopedic surgery to place pins in his leg to correct his bone arrangement as much as possible. It is unlikely to completely fix his leg function but it will improve his function from where it is at the moment. He’s been nothing but a lovely little guy to have and I’m happy I’m able to give him a great life whether he ever gains function of his leg or not.
