*there is an entire episode dedicated to debunking alternative medicine and all the bullshit miracle treatments that we as chronically ill people are so frequently lectured about!
*he discusses ways that technology can help those with disabilities (specifically a new camera app that can help blind folk by providing an audio description of their surroundings)
*he debunks the menacing stigma of GMO crops, which many ignorant people blame as the cause of cancer and other illnesses
*he debunks the claim that vaccination is linked to autism, as well as demonstrates how unvaccinated people can severely impact those who are immunocompromised.
Bill Nye acknowledged and validated pansexuality on his new Netflix show, Bill Nye Saves the World.
Even though I don’t particularly like the “regardless of” definition of pansexuality, I’ve seen quite a few people who are really happy about this and that is so important to me.
So, endless shoutouts to Bill Nye for acknowledging and validating people who very rarely feel seen and valid.
also asexuaity, and nonbinary/agender people! this episode made me wanna cry from happiness
Each episode of Bill Nye's new Netflix series 'Bill Nye Saves the World' will tackle a specific topic or concept through lively panel discussions and Bill’s very special blend of lab procedure and sly personality.
A new year is here, and a new set of Netflix originals are on the horizon. 2017 will see the return of beloved shows Stranger Things, House of Cards, Love and more, but also a brand new offering from Bill Nye that could do some very important work. Set to arrive in spring 2017, Bill Nye Saves the World’s premise sounds pretty squarely aimed at Donald Trump:
Bill Nye is coming to Netflix with a new talk show, Bill Nye Saves the World. The series is slated to premiere in spring 2017, with each episode tackling “a topic from a scientific point of view, dispelling myths and refuting anti-scientific claims.” Nye revealed some of the issues the show will touch on including climate change, vaccines, and that big parenting problem.
