lemonsourwolf: so about that kitten stuck in our garage rooftop... we ended up dismanteling the damn roof, cause i couldn't bear the crying. then we discovered the lil fella had fallen down the rain water downpipe and got stuck underground in the wastepipe, so we dug a 2 metre deep hole in our garden, called the firemen who put an endoscope camera 10metres into the pipeline & were finally able to rescue the kitten. it's a tricolor baby girl named "lucky". we're bottle feeding since mama cat didn't come back.
You are a saint, this was an amazing story from start to finish. I hope you’ll keep me updated on how Lucky is doing! Maybe some pics of this grand rescue? It sounds like a very big effort for a very tiny creature! (But totally worth it)
my mom’s the saint really, it’s her garage rooftop and garden we destroyed. miss lucky is doing great :) she looks so big in these pictures but she’s rather tiny. just a handful of cat really.
her mom and sibling also came back onto our property yesterday. mommy cat is really shy and not a fan of humans at all - but also hungry and in need of a place to hide her baby (she chose our garden shed). i guess we won’t be able to catch them both to bring them to a safe space (i’d love to reunite them with lucky) and i don’t want to separate them. so for now we’re just feeding mommy and keeping an eye on her and kitten no2.
OH MY GODDDDD look at this adorable ball of fluff, you absolutely did the right thing, she’s amazing! I’m glad mom came back and trusted your place to hide her other kitten again, too, that’s so sweet, even if she’s not a fan of people. Me too mama, but these ones are good ones!! <3

after talking to our vet about mama cats risk of getting pregnant again despite still nursing kitten nr2 and because it’s already getting really cold at night, we decided to try and catch both with a live catch trap. it went pretty smoothly. mama cat is already out and about again - still regularly fed by my parents. as of lately she started lounging on the terasse with them every afternoon. it’s kinda sweet. baby nr2 got reunited with miss lucky and is living with me now. it’s a really shy, quiet little guy named bagheera. kinda hard to take pictures of him since he’s pitch black from head to toe. both are doing well. so… happy end :)
life is strange sometimes. last year i lost my cats and dog due to old age and illness in a span of only a few months. it was sad and kinda traumatic tbh. i didn’t think about adding any animal friends to the family anytime soon. and now here we are.
update for kedreeva :) lucky and bagheera both doing really well.
and down below is moma cat :) she’s still a regular guest at my parents and as of lately sometimes is even brave enough now to come all the way into the house to warm up in the hallway for short periods of time.

Let us just appreciate that this person’s dad didn’t know when they would be home and so he couldn’t plan for them to be able to join the family for dinner, but he knew with no doubts that dear sweet Meatloaf staying in that exact position for hours was an absolute in this scenario. Truly, that cat was named well.

Today I was rehearsing with the guitarist from the show I’m doing and I was coughing up a lung bc I’m sick and I was just kidding but I told him he needed to bring me a lemon for me to slice up and put in a cup of tea and so I show up to the show tonight to get ready and he sets down a big ass lemon on my dressing room table and then brings out like 5 boxes of Halloween Oreos and for those of you who pay attention to my posts you know what a big fucking deal that is and so long story short I now have a lemon and more Oreos than I know what to do with
update: tonight he brought me 2 lemons and a bag of cough drops. i’m running out of room in my fruit drawer in the fridge because i have so many damn lemons.
