I was thinking about how Cardassian literature is like “before we begin you must know the whole family tree and history thereof for all our main characters. This may take a while” and my brain spat out the concept of Julian getting Garak to read the lord of the rings and I think I’m onto something here I think I’m having a galaxy brain moment
Julian’s like “I think this may be more to your tastes, it’s a Very long winded war story from the early 20th century” and Garak’s sceptical about it at first because it’s fantasy but cut to next week and he’s just Losing His Mind about it. He’d have a lot of opinions but I think he’d generally enjoy it more than anyone expected, including himself
