you know. for pride i should mention the lesbian doves in a proper post like i mention it. so often. bc it rewired me. but i haven’t really just gotten a Record
so like years back me and an old friend were looking at a pigeon adoption site together, and most of them were in mated pairs. and what was kind of surprising to me was there were a Lot that were same-sex, like i expected some but it was a solid fifth of the pairs maybe? a quarter?
and there was a pair of two females that caught our eye and it was actually a pigeon and a dove (i forget what breed the latter was but it was significantly smaller than the pigeon) and the description said something to the effect of “because of the size difference pairs between a pigeon and a dove are usually split up but she’s very gentle with her” and i think about this every day of my life. love wins.
A goldcrest came up to my window a while back. It's the smallest bird in the UK! My camera's pretty grainy but I took a few pictures (including one perfectly spherical pose. It is ball)
