the way liberals like to act all pro-blm until protestors start blocking traffic and then they turn into conservatives

“police brutality is sooo bad omg it really sucks but do you guys have to stand around on the highway…? some people have to get to work”

the way y'all see black outrage as nothing more than an inconvenience is extremely telling

“i support protests just not in a way that disrupts my everyday life” then baby you don’t support protesting… that’s literally the point…

also like in all seriousness furry hate is 10000% a warning sign as a sort of garden-variety expression of homophobia and transphobia. call me insane or delusional, and pardon the animal metaphor, but furries are consistently one of several common canaries in the coal mine when it comes to Acceptable and Reasonable hatred of Degeneracy. it almost always snowballs from there, too!

disabled people who are never getting better are still worthy of life, still worthy of protection, and still worthy of having a voice in our communities

One of the frustrating aspects of the queer experience is just not knowing how far the support goes. With some people in my life, I feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop, for them to draw the line in the sand. I’m fairly confident they don’t support all the way, but they’re too decent to act like shitty people.

Would they come to my wedding? Would they come to pride? Would they stand up for LGBTQ people in their churches? What do they do when someone says something homophobic and I’m not there?

I’m not saying I’m not grateful for the support bc I am. But sometimes things exist in this undefined space and I’m not quite sure how to handle it.

again. bodily autonomy, fundamental bodily autonomy HAS to have room for people doing things with their own bodies that you do not and will not approve of. if it doesnt, it is not bodily autonomy

new law passed by the court of Me if you pass a homeless person on the street and they ask you for money you MUST verbally acknowledge them even if just to say ‘sorry, mate, got nothing’ and if you just ignore them totally and keep walking youre killed to death with a steel beam that hits you hits you hits you

look not to do the Thing but not everyone can just produce polite words immediately on demand all the time when they’re out in the world

then fucking nod or shrug apologetically at them my god it’s not a riddle of the sphinx

the fact that homeless people are constantly ignored contributes heavily to them having serious mental health problems btw, so it’s not just about politeness, it either actively feeds any existing mental illness they might have, or induces anxiety/depression

doomstar:

You know what, fuck people who force writers to reveal their trauma in order to justify the stories they write. No consumer is owed an explanation for the content a creator creates, and no creator should feel obligated to draw from or admit to pain that may or may not be in their life in order to craft a work of fiction.

“I had an idea for a story” is all the justification you need to write one, and all anyone needs to let it be.
