so far ds9 has said so we’re going to have a diverse cast that comes from a variety of our fictional races and cultures and some of them have varying degrees to which they already know each other and I was like oh sweet I enjoy the tension that comes from the interplay of established vs new relationships and witnessing the new relationships develop thanks and then they said and we’re going to use the stationary setting of the space station to frequently return to the nearby alien cultures so we can deep dive into the dynamics between a recently liberated people and the militant colonist empire that oppressed them and I was like oh super interesting I appreciate how you’re taking the time to develop this complex relationship so that I as an audience member feel like I have more personal connection to the conflict through your recurring characters and then they said and one of our recurring characters is a gay space lizard and my queer monkey brain was like oh? did you say that space lizard was gay???? 👀
