Absolutely fascinated by the fact that known civil/gay rights supporter, Garth Brooks, whose reputation as a Country Singer for the Red Necks apparently supersedes the fact he’s received a GLAAD award and has a half-sister who is gay that he publicly supports and references as an inspiration, is now being collectively “cancelled” by MAGAs because he’s agreed to sell Bud Light in his new bar.
Genuinely wondering what’s going on in the mind of these people who say, It’s not because he’s selling Bud Light, it’s because he called us assholes! When the direct quote was:
“I want it to be a place you feel safe in. I want it to be a place where you feel like there are manners and people like one another. And yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are. It’s not our decision to make. Our thing is this: if you [are let] into this house, love one another. If you’re an asshole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”
Truly, I really want to know how these people have decided that now, after Garth Brooks has won like every country music award known to the American Man, he suddenly “was never that good.”
How do your brains even work????
All these people deleting their Garth Brooks songs and throwing away their albums. Y'all. You already paid for it. Garth Brooks is a millionaire. He literally does not care what you do with his albums. Nor does he care if you attend his concerts or go to the bar.
He has one rule, don’t be an asshole.
And all you are doing is being assholes so like…he doesn’t have time for you.
Such. Monumental thinking is happening today.
Anyway, here’s a song Garth Brooks got a GLAAD award for following the 1992 LA Riots.
