@ prev tags: meijer is a large grocery/department like walmart but better than walmart can be a bit pricer but the whole vibe is more brighter and more inviting also meijer workers have a union also you prob havent heard of it bc it does exist outside of mi. in. and oh. when it was first founded it was called 'meijer thrify acres' wikipedia tells me it also has stores in il. kn. and wi. but half the stores are in mi where the chain is based it was founded by a father and son named meijer also they have a fake horse like an arcade ride for little kids and it only costs a penny sandy the pony had to go into storage in 2020 and i got choked up whenever i saw the sign it's pretty much the only store i shop at also the son half of the founding duo was named fred meijer i used to get so confused hearing about fred meyers out west also i meant ky. instead of kn. apologies
