this isn’t a dig or anything but why do you have such a vendetta against dupes of cfa recipes going around?

obviously i’m not going to eat there whether i cook my own or not, but i remember what it tastes like from when i was a kid and i do get cravings sometimes; i thought dupes were a pretty good way to still get the flavor without giving them any money?

I will admit I have never had their chicken. Maybe it really is that good. But it frustrates me that like there seems to be this idea that people need these dupe recipes to placate them so they will consent to avoid Chik-fil-a. Like the fact that they fund conversion therapy and other queerphobic practices and policies is not enough for people. We gotta assure them they can still get that one specific taste of chicken? It’s chicken. I do not understand the attachment, I guess.

My real issue is that we don’t seem able to just tell people to not eat there and why. We have to offer alternatives. We have to be like “we know it’s hard to resist the bigoted chicken, so here’s how you can still almost have it!” Why is it not enough to say, “This company hates us. If you care about us and don’t want to support their hate, buy your chicken somewhere else.”
