I rly think we overlook how often spock just Does Whatever the Fuck He Wants. Like it would’ve been soooo easy to write spock as this straight laced character who always follows starfleet regulation no matter what. But it’s infinitely more interesting & hilarious to have a character whose unshakable moral code aligns with his commanders Most of the time, except for the times when it doesn’t, and in those cases he commits his whole being to things like jumping into a whale tank or stealing a whole starship or escaping the enterprise on a jet pack to mind meld with a giant sentient computer ship. Like he doesn’t do anything by halves and we love that for him
