The more I hang out in intersex spaces, the more I resent the way trans spaces put emphasis on birth assignment and whether you’re “TME or TMA.”
Some of us have a complicated relationship with that shit and can’t be nearly sorted into your annoying little false binaries.
What about intersex people who weren’t assigned male or female? What about people who were born with “ambiguous” traits and forcibly operated on to force them into the binary?
What about intersex people who were assigned to one but naturally look like what people think the “opposite” is?
An AFAB intersex person who naturally grows a beard and has a muscular, broad body isn’t going to be “TME” to ANYONE inclined to hurl transmisogyny around. Neither is an AMAB intersex person who looks more “feminine.” This is even more true for intersex PoC, who are frequently targeted by all sorts of shitbags.
I have had trans people look at my natural body and make all sorts of assumptions about what HRT cocktail I must be on. I’m not on HRT at all. People “complementing” the testosterone making my beard grow in or the estrogen making my tits bigger (both of which have happened to me multiple times) isn’t actually a complement, thanks. I’m not on HRT, I just naturally have these features.
I deeply fucking resent that my body gets policed and over-analyzed in spaces that are supposed to be safe for all genders.
Perisex trans people, fucking do better.
