I get to be That Person today and ruin everyone’s fun by saying the dialogue is correct but the subtext has been left out–she’s in love with him and lying through her teeth because she chooses loyalty to her job and the Enterprise over her (somewhat inexplicable) feelings for this god dude. Still an icon, just for different reasons.
