Today marks a year, officially, from when Mom was admitted to the hospital for her stroke. Yesterday was a year since she had the stroke.
My nerves were raw and through the roof as yesterday Mom called in sick to work (I just about lost my MIND) but it was just a stomach ache. I stayed up all night to make absolute certain that I could wake her up if necessary.
It was not necessary.
A year ago it was a struggle to wake her up. Today she woke up on her own without even needing the alarm clock and went in to work.
It went a long way toward easing my anxiety.
There are more milestones to come but I feel better about them now.
And it has been a YEAR of ups and downs, folks.
Mom has adjusted to being back at work so the cranky is mostly gone. This coming week is the Pastor’s Conference however so HOLY BEACHNUTS BATMAN it’s gonna be crazy, LONG hours. Which is good for the wallet but not so good for Mom’s mood.
We’re still in financial straits because even with insurance healthcare is EXPENSIVE and we owe the hospital serious bucks.
So obviously the GoFundMe remains open.
My etsy shop is on vacation until February 1st.
But! I’m always open for commissions of fics, craft work, or drawing a cartoon jellyfish.
Fingers crossed that we can pay off the hospital by this time next year folks.
