“Organic” foods are such a scam and a sham
Why????
The regulations on what is considered “organic” are loose at best and there’s literally no conclusive evidence on whether “organic” foods are even healthier for you so people are paying extra money for shit that really isn’t much more than a label.
Even if they’re grown without pesticides?
“organic” foods are grown with pesticides just approved ones like copper sulfate
could i also add that gmos are necessary in maintining crops and production rates. people gave chemical modicfication mixed with genetics. all thats happening is certain breeds of say corn or tomatoes are being bred with other breeds to improve resistance and harvest rates. it doesnt affect how edible or safe a food is. i spent time working on a farm and i dont think people realize the fear mongering has had a major impact on what is a lot poor farmers being underpaid and threatened by companies when their isnt enough harvest to meet quota. so gmos are necessary for the crops and people who produce them.
Also the whole GMO thing is really important now just because of climate change and how it’s impacting the growing seasons and just the base ability to grow crops. Plus because of the miss climate change bugs and shit are living longer and adventuring to areas they couldn’t before so you know! modifying some tomatoes so they don’t get eaten from the inside out by bugs is probably something we want.
