it’s so deeply telling how when trans women try to say ‘hey, you viewing us as abject freaks and men is transmisogyny’ or ‘trans lesbians are really lesbians’ that so many cis women will instantly go to ‘so you think it’s transphobic that I don’t like DICK?!!’
i just stumbled on a post that laid out this issue in very clear terms and explained it very nicely to cis people, yet _still_ a endless mass of people were responding by going ‘but i don’t want dick’. like, it’s physically impossible to get cis women to stop seeing us as a hybrid of sexual object with no personhood, secretly men, and innate rapist. you can talk till you’re blue in the face and they’ll just keep pretending it’s physically impossible to treat you like a human being or engage in good faith
In my neck of the woods those are called terfs
trans woman exterminatory radical feminists (twerfs/terfs) are a group with distinct tactics, talking points, and ideological basis for their violence. to dismiss this as ‘terf behavior’ dilutes the meaning of the term terf/twerf into meaninglessness and is a easy way out for cis people to avoid taking responsibility for their transmisogyny.
twerfs do a great deal of harm. but the transmisogynistic attitudes, views, and behaviors discussed above are a broader issue that cis people of all sorts coming from all sorts of places enact.
this isn’t twerf behavior, this is normalized cis behavior
