Is there any more doubt that the GOP is a fully neo-nazi organization now?
is palin upset or happy can’t tell either way this is her fault too
she played a role in this along with every other Republican and member of the GOP
For those not in the know, “14 Words” is a reference to the most popular white supremacist slogan in the world: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” The slogan was coined by David Lane, a member of the white supremacist terrorist group known as The Order.
Just so it’s clear – because I know it wasn’t for me when I read this – but Palin was quoting the YoungCons website, which you can see in her facebook post:
Trump did not say the above slogan by David Lane. There were a few different phrases he did say which were about 14 words (pulled courtesy of Elite Daily, which I admittedly know nothing about as a source):
Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost?
Our freedom and our civilization depend on these bonds of history, culture, and memory
Let us all fight like the Poles. For family, freedom, for country, for God.
We must stand united against these shared enemies to rip them of their territory.
As ED points out, this are all still incredibly reminiscent of White Nationalist ideology, and YoungCons claims now in an editor’s note:
Well, here’s an example of how crazy liberal media can be, how they can twist anything to meet an agenda and to attack people with whom they disagree.
Youngcons wrote the above story about a great speech by Trump using as a headline in our Facebook post “Trump Gives Speech to the People of Poland, Says 14 Words That Leave Americans Stunned.”
What were the 14 words Youngcons was referencing?
“Let us all fight like the Poles. For family, freedom, for country, for God.”
Suffice to say, Poland has a track record of colluding with or supporting white nationalism, and also a bad track record for the entirety of the Holocaust.
And again, while I don’t know much about ED, they point out:
While some may say that these are just words, context matters. In the speech, Trump mentions “the Polish experience” in regard to defending the west. Right now,the European Union is taking legal action against Poland (along with the Czech Republic and Hungary) for their refusal to let in refugees, many of whom are Muslim. This goes hand-in-hand, thematically speaking, with Trump’s travel ban, which is officially the Executive Order for “Protecting The Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States.” The Washington Post reported that the law upon which the order is based was originally intended to “protect” the U.S. from communists and Jews.
So while trump didn’t say the 14 words coined by David Lane, he absolutely did spout some pretty obviously white nationalist/fascist rhetoric in support of a country which is currently being sued by the EU for denying (largely muslim) refugees asylum.
ETA: there’s more, as well. Uh, Trump sounds like a fascist because he is.
15 words, not 14: "The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive.“ In case people don’t know (I didn’t) people started connecting this speech and an infamous 1935 Nazi propaganda film titled ”Triumph of the Will.“
and:
“Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost?” Trump asked. “Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?”
He also told Russia to:
“instead join the community of responsible nations in our fight against common enemies and in defense of civilization itself.”
Also just to note what the New York Times said:
Michael Schudrich, Poland’s chief rabbi, and other Jewish leaders criticized Mr. Trump’s decision not to visit a monument to the 1943 ghetto uprising.
