For all the trans/nonbinary kids who’ve just picked out their new name and figured out your pronouns, I just wanted to let you know;

For a while, you’ll mess up. You’ll refer to yourself in your head as your birth name and your heart will drop a little.
You’ll use the wrong pronouns on yourself and sometimes that’ll hurt worse than other people messing up.

Sometimes you’ll second guess your new name and some of you will grieve. Its not your name, but it’s almost like burying someone you grew up with.

But let me tell you, one day you’ll see your birth name and it won’t even apply to you. Your brain might do a little “????” Thing. You’ll start using your pronouns in your head without thinking about it.
