Goddamit. Husband just called to tell me the car started smoking as he drove into Other Town. As he was checking out the engine, the serpentine belt snapped. His brother is coming out to install a new belt and look at the engine. I really hope the smoke isn’t indicative of a serious problem. We can’t afford to be without a car.
