i dont get what this post means
service dogs are doing a job and usually people want to pet them but then theyll interrupt the job the service dog is trained to do. so the rule of thumb is dont interact with a service dog unless the owner says you can
YEET idc I’m petting the dog anyways
Here’s another lesson on service dog etiquette, guys.
Don’t be ^THAT person.
I get it. Dogs are cute and everybody loves then, but by going against the handler’s wishes and petting the service dog, you’re putting another person’s life at risk.
Oh, and here’s another fun fact. Distracting, harming, talking to, or interfering with the work of a service animal is actually a CRIME (class 3 misdemeanor, to be exact) You could be taken to court if your actions result in harm to part of the Service Dog team and told to pay for any retraining or medical costs.
So not only should you not do it if you want the disabled person to stay alive, but you’re also committing a crime.
This has been your daily lesson on proper service dog etiquette.
