This past Saturday, James and I were sitting outside enjoying the sun, when we were visited by a cat. She ran across the street right into our yard, and actually went into the garage. I got hold of her, because I thought she might belong to the neighbors across the street. I took her over there, but they weren’t home. I let her go in their yard anyway, but it wasn’t five minutes before she was back across the street in our garage again.
We can’t take her into the house, but we’ve been putting food out for her. She’s returned a few times since Saturday including today when I took these pics. We’re fairly sure she’s female based on the fact that calicos almost always are, so we’ve decided to call her Claudia.
I honestly think she might be an owned cat who ventures out and eats from the ‘neighborhood buffet’, as campylobacter put it. She’s so friendly! Most stray cats would rather run than approach, but she has approached multiple times. Plus she seems clean and well-fed. I figure we’ll keep putting food out for her until winter. But if she’s still coming around when it’s freezing outside, we’ll have to take her to the shelter or something.
