is that in fictional m/f couples, the woman always HAS to be younger than the man. not always by a significant amount. just 1-3 years or so. i’ve never quite understood why that’s a Thing

Tulbaghia violacea is in the family Amaryllidaceae. Commonly known as society garlic it is native to the Cape Province of South Africa. While this species is most commonly grown as a landscape ornamental, similar to Agapanthus, it has a variety of edible and medicinal uses as well. All parts of the plant including the leaves, flowers, and bulbs are edible. This plant is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties, and can help to prevent blood clotting. The common name society garlic is in reference to the fact that this species tastes like garlic, but does not cause bad breath!
