Clark Gregg - NAMI Mental Health Month (x)  #StigmaFree

As someone who struggles with anxiety, I am really glad Clark Gregg is now a part of this campaign.  Let’s make mental illness #StigmaFree guys.  People suffering from mental illness are normal people too, not people with “problems.”

Boycotting all of Marvel’s comics won’t actually achieve the objective.

What will?

Don’t buy this run (Captain America: Steve Rogers). 

Don’t buy this particular comic, don’t buy any of it.

If you’re on a Marvel comic subscription where you don’t control which issues you have access to, don’t read the comic/don’t access it.

If you shop at a brick-and-mortar comic book store, make sure they know you won’t be buying any of the issues.

If you own a brick-and-mortar comic book store, and your contract allows, don’t even stock the issues.

Let this run build up in the warehouse, untouched.  Let it gather dust, let it serve as a reminder to Marvel that this was a terrible idea that should never have been done or approved.

Let it echo in the silence that this sort of thing is not something we as consumers are interested in.  Period.

And if you’re looking for something good to do with your money instead?  Something in line with what Steve Rogers would do?  Then may I humbly suggest the EvangersCares fundraiser for Christopher’s Haven, which is being done as a birthday gift from the fandom for Chris Evans, the actor that brought Captain America to the big screen in the MCU in such an amazing and wonderful way.  Christopher’s Haven is a charity in Boston, Massachusetts that Chris Evans has supported and continues to support.   They provide housing and community support for children battling cancer.  It also has an American Red Cross Sleeves Up campaign to encourage life-saving blood donations.  The EvangersCares 2016 campaign runs until June 13, 2016.
