'He Lived In His Truth': Remembering Those Murdered In Orlando
They ranged in age from 18 to 50. They were dancers and students, a singer and a bouncer, an accountant and an aspiring firefighter — mothers, fathers, teenagers, couples and best friends.

On Sunday morning, a gunman at the gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando, Fla., perpetrated the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history. He killed 49 people and injured more than 50.
The city of Orlando has released the names of the identified victims, after notifying their next of kin.
“Our City is working tirelessly to get as much information out to the families so they can begin the grieving process,” reads the city’s statement. “Please keep the following individuals in your thoughts and prayers.”
It’s gross as fuck to tell people that no one will love them until they love themselves. Loving yourself is hard. Listen: you are loved, you are worthy of love and respect, and you can be loved even on the days when you see nothing in yourself to love.

this is such a good post because asking ppl if you can be friends can make them feel so uncomfortable but if you approach them like this its SO EASY to start a conversation and let a friendship develop naturally

Very uncomfortable with people who want to take this tragedy and strip it of its context. This was not an attack on America. This is not a situation where flag-waving patriotism is the answer.
This was an American-born citizen who targeted a gay club on Latin Night. The overwhelming majority of the people there were Latinx or African-American.
These are groups who are told to “go back to your own country,” called “unamerican,” targeted by legislation, or cast as “others” by the same flag-waving patriotism some people are wanting to rally to in this situation. Do not trample over the people who have been killed or hurt in an attempt to claim victimhood for a nation that would otherwise shun them.
