Do you ever have a day that starts out well, but then just gets shittier and shittier for no real reason? And it’s frustrating bc it started out so well, butvthen you think maybe that’s why it’s so shitty and like you just feel trapped and like screaming and smashing things but you can’t even get off the couch?

Sitting here wishing these Bernie or Bust people would just admit they’re stubborn, misogynistic, racist, xenophobic, selfish assholes…

WAIT.

I think I just figured something out here. Well that makes more sense.

Beyond the obvious beauty and grace of our First Lady, one must consider the historic importance of this photo. Our history books sweep under the rug the fact that the White House was built by African American slaves. For the next 150 years the majority of the serving staff of the so called “people’s house” were African American. In 1901 Booker T. Washington was the first African American to be received there as a guest by Theodore Roosevelt, to the horror of Washington society. They are all at last vindicated in our first African American first family. Note…It is my humble opinion that no matter what family should occupy the White House after January 2017, and the following generations for that matter, they will never equal the style, debonair, and class as that of the Obamas.

To the Sanders fans pissed about Bernie endorsing Hillary

willisninety-six:

You do realize why he is doing this right?

He’s consistently said again and again after the primaries that his #1 goal is to: STOP DONALD TRUMP FROM BECOMING PRESIDENT.

So, with that goal in mind, it would be an absolute fuckton of a disaster if Bernie were to run third-party or begged his supporters to vote for him write-in, you know why? Because it would split the Democratic vote up in half.
And because of that this would give them way less votes in order to beat Trump, and because of that Trump would lead in national votes in most states, and thus lead in the electoral vote, making him president.

Don’t believe me? Look at the 1912, 1968 and 2000 elections and tell me I’m wrong.

Bernie knows this too, that’s why he’s urging his supporters to vote for Hillary. He wants the Democrats united so Trump will be defeated.

He’s not “selling out”, he’s doing this so no supporter of his will either vote Trump or abstain from voting, and to make sure America continues progress. Progress that, unfortunately will be thwarted or reversed with Trump as president.

The political revolution fails if Trump is elected.

If you have any interest in what the cool kids call “defensive voting” I recommend ballotpedia.org as a resource for finding out what candidates and questions will be in your local ballot. The questions especially can have some pretty strong consequences, but they often don’t get as much press as national candidates, so there’s an opportunity to attempt to educate people about the relevant issues before they’ve formed their opinions.

I live in Massachusetts, and the state has four ballot questions this year – one on licensing more slot machines in the state; one on expanding the charter school system; one on banning animal products from farms that use cages too small to allow the animal to stand, lie down, or turn around; and one on legalizing marijuana for people at least 21 years of age.

Past Massachusetts ballots have featured questions on euthanasia and on whether the state should essentially discontinue its public housing program. I hear California has a ballot proposition this year that could determine the legality of the death penalty within the state. (BallotPedia tells me it’s Proposition 62.)

So if you’re going to vote, go forth and research your ballot.
