“I KICK THE DOOR DOWN!”

— A 12 year old girl, playing her first ever D&D campaign as a fighter princess named Cocoa. She did this for literally every door we found. Even when the stress-filled rogue (me) was trying to check for traps. It was the best. (via yourplayersaidwhat)

I have a love affair with hardcovers. They’re elegant and sleek and sometimes when you take off the sleeve there’s a surprise on the cover. But then other times I really love paperbacks because they’re so casual and cool like they won’t take it personal if you fold over a corner. And then there’s ebooks which are like epitome of convenience and I can hold a library in the palm of my hand. I just really love books

As much of a trainwreck these Olympic Games seem to be, I’m still kinda bummed I can’t watch them on tv. I’m sure I could stream some of them on my phone, but it isn’t the same.

I keep thinking of watching the 2012 Olympics while feeding the infant on my lap or keeping an eye on him in his swing. And now he’s four and a half! It’s ridiculous to get nostalgic about a summer that honestly was pretty awful most of the time dealing with a colicky baby and post-pardum depression, but I kinda am. Our memories of past events really do get blurry, don’t they?
