they literally call it the land of the free in the same verse like….

Ohhhhhh… I get it now…

It’s not ‘land of the free’ as in, where freedom is there for everyone

But ‘land of the free’ as in white people’s land…

Source? So I can properly go, this shit is fucked up, to people and they can’t refute.

sources!

wanting wonder woman to be muscular is not body policing oh my GOD

dc cast gal gadot and gal gadot didn’t bulk up because of SEXISM and because of shitty outdated association of muscle with masculinity. serena williams gets shit for being “built like a man” because of that SAME attitude. she hulk is consistently drawn with skinny lean arms and big boobs despite being a fucking HULK because of that SAME attitude.

don’t give me that shit about how “gal gadot is naturally lean and can’t bulk up” oh my god women gain the same percentage of muscle mass as men during strength training so if chris pratt can bulk up so can gal gadot. yes, it means she has to eat lots of protein and GAIN WEIGHT to convert that to muscle mass but then if it’s too hard she shouldn’t have said she would bulk up for the role in the first place then?????

wonder woman is a symbol of strength. she comes from a society of warriors. she is known for her combat skills as much as for her lasso and she deserves to be portrayed on the big screen with a body accurate to her character. if chris evans showed up to the iconic scene where he stumbles out with the super soldier serum with an average, slightly flabby gut, no real muscles to speak of, people would be angry. and yet there’s nothing wrong with a flabby gut or having no muscles- it’s just not accurate to the character. just like there’s nothing wrong with being skinny like gal gadot. in any other context, i would not give a flying fuck. but she’s wonder woman. she has to look the part.

we deserve muscular wonder womans and captain marvels on the screen (that’s right, marvel, please cast someone body accurate for carol danvers please) so that pop culture and media can start chipping away at the notion that muscles and physical strength are meant for men, not women. it’s an antiquated idea that needs to go and the best place to start would be with one of the most iconic women in pop culture.

Speaking of muscular Diana (Stjepan Sejic):

People were all worked up when Sarah Connor, the waitress in Terminator 1

became Sarah Connor the warrior in Terminator 2:

But it made sense for the character. And once the movie came out, people agreed that it made sense.

But that was twenty-some years ago. Why are we still having this conversation?

yes to all of this.

Wonder woman is literally an amzonian woman. a term for big strong, powerful combative women.

gal gadot looks nothing like that, at all. She might do a good acting job, but at the end of the day i still wont be convinced.

if anything this looks like a wonder woman still in training, like 17 years old, rather than full grown DC comics wonder woman

Please please please

I saw a post about “Please stop hitting on women while they’re at work” and I 100% agree with it, which is why I’m making a separate post to say please don’t hit on people in general when they’re at work.

I work at a bakery and we have this sweet 16 about to turn 17 year old boy who works up front of our store. He used to work at the place next door to us and, while he was there, a girl he was working with developed a bit of a crush on him and asked him out.

He said no, that he has a girlfriend (which she already knew) and thought they could just continue on being friends and coworkers.

Since beginning work at our bakery she stops in every single day and talks to him for the entirety of her 30 minute long break. He has told her multiple times that he’s at work and can’t stand around and talk and when I asked him if he was uncomfortable his response was a very relieved “Oh, God, yes.”

He’s tried to talk to one of the owners about it and his response was “You can talk to her after work” not realizing this poor boy is being made incredibly uncomfortable on a daily basis in the work place.

When we told him he could come into the back to find something to do if he needed to he was so incredibly thankful and relieved. This girl spent twenty minutes standing up front waiting for him to come back after he said he had to go do something. Twenty minutes in the front of the store ever after being told he can’t talk to her. He doesn’t know what would happen if he says that he doesn’t want to talk to her and is genuinely nervous every time she walks in.

The only reprieve he gets is from the bakers in the back saying “I get it. Come back here” because the Owners don’t understand that he, a male coworker, can be made uncomfortable by these unwanted advancements being made toward him.

Please.

This post isn’t made to undersell not hitting on women while they’re at work. I get that and that’s why this separate post exists.

Please.

Don’t hit on people when they’re at work.

Don’t hit on people when they can’t tell you no.

DON’T HIT ON PEOPLE WHEN THEY CAN’T TELL YOU NO.

here’s a thing that i don’t think american kids are told often enough:

STAY AWAY FROM FOR-PROFIT COLLEGES.

ITT tech, virginia colleges, bryant and stratton, the art institutes, university of phoenix, everest, devry, etc - do NOT attend these places. do not give them your money - and it will be a lot of money. They are all, to a one, scams.

For-profit colleges prey on minority, low-income, military, nontraditional, and chronically underemployed students by promising them a quick path to a career. They are lying. They often do not allow the transfer of credits to and from, and many are either unaccredited or accredited by suspect accreditors. They rely on their students to take out massive federal student loan debt. They line their pockets with money from the government and then burden their graduates with tens of thousands of dollars of debt for inadequate education and degrees that aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on.

If you’re a non-traditional student looking for a degree, don’t go to a for-profit. Find a community college in your area instead. most ccs have more flexible class times for especially vocational/technical certifications and quite a few offer online-only or hybrid degrees. Hell, if you’re a non-trad student and you have a GED and some spare cash, try studying for a few months and then taking the SATs/ACT and trying for a four-year straight out (that’s what I did). Or get an AA and then do a four-year. Or look for a technical/adult education program sponsored by a local community college or school district. Just please, please, please, don’t go to a for-profit college. They will ruin your credit rating, your finances, and your job prospects.

I got my AA in graphic design & illustration and art history at my local community college. Later, I transferred to a 4-year non-profit university. Now I’ve graduated debt-free (since I qualified for full financial aid) and now have full time work.

I spent 5 years in community college figuring out what I needed to do. Take your time. Do things the right way.

Trump made this substantial contribution to Bondi at just the moment when her office was evaluating whether to bring legal action against Trump’s ‘Trump University’ real estate seminar scam. Indeed, Bondi admits she reached out to Trump to solicit the contribution just as the decision was on her desk. She eventually declined to take legal action against Trump, overruling the recommendations of career investigators.

A mounting legal case was also underway in Texas, by career investigators under then-Attorney General and now Governor Greg Abbott. Abbott overruled the investigators recommendation for legal action. Shortly thereafter Abbott got $35,000 from Trump. In this case Trump at least mad the contribution without the commingling of nonprofit funds that go them in trouble in Florida.

At the risk of stating the obvious, these facts are textbook examples of the sort of political and prosecutorial corruption journalists are supposed to uncover. Trump used money to buy protection from the consequences of his bad acts from friendly politicians. He then tried to cover up his payment of protection money. And on top of all that he made the either bizarre or incompetent mistake of paying the protection money out of his Foundation - the money from which mostly comes from other people beside Trump.

This is an actual, real, meaningful scandal with two – two! – smoking guns. This is exactly the sort of thing that the New York Times, CNN, and all the biggest names in journalism are looking for as they relentlessly go after the Clinton Foundation, as well as Bill and Hillary Clinton. There is nothing to be uncovered there, because there is no “there” there. The FBI pretty much exonerated the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation of exactly the kind of influence peddling and pay-for-play corruption that Trump is clearly guilty of doing … and there is almost complete and utter silence about Trump’s two successful efforts to buy off politicians – and not just politicians, but the Attorneys General of two different states!

The story the media wants to write about the Clintons exists, but they won’t write it, because it’s about Trump.
