I’m seeing these hand-wringing articles speculating that Donald Trump is going to call for armed insurrection or something if he loses the election, but let’s be real here: his MO isn’t salting the Earth in the wake of a loss - it’s rewriting reality to recontextualise the loss as a win. I figure that if Donald Trump loses the election, inside of two weeks he’ll be claiming that his entire campaign was some sort of high concept performance art piece never actually intended to succeed, and don’t we all feel foolish now?

Samaria Rice is taking the role of leader seriously. Earlier this year, Rice helped lead the call to replace Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty, who declined to bring criminal charges against the two police officers who shot her son.
Now, she’s the face of a nationwide effort to look more closely at prosecutors in cities and counties across the country, 95% of whom are white and more than 70% of whom run unopposed. In the fight to curb police violence, prosecutors are uniquely positioned to hold officers accountable for their actions.

Government to pardon thousands of gay men under 'Alan Turing Law'
Thousands of gay and bisexual men convicted under outdated gross indecency laws are to be posthumously pardoned, the Government has announced, in a “momentous” victory for campaigners. Announcing what has been dubbed as the ‘Alan Turing law’ justice minister Sam Gyimah said the Government would seek to implement the change through an amendment to the Policing and Crime Bill. It will effectively act as an apology to those convicted for consensual same-sex relationships before homosexuality was decriminalised in England and Wales in 1967.
