I’m from ~the heartland~, and I assure you that Trump voters knew damn fucking well what they were doing. We’re not a bunch of dumb hayseeds who are innocent of what we do because we’re too fucking stupid and backwards to know how an election works, and therefore anybody who criticizes us is just a soulless cosmopolitan elitist. People have smartphones, there are newspapers that aren’t just yellow journalism rags, and more than that there are good people who were smart enough to see what’s going to happen, amd who have been fighting for what’s right all along. If there’s one attitude that really strikes me as clueless elitism, it’s the idea that everyone there must be coddled from being called on bigotry because we’re all too hopelessly primitive and stupid to know any better
PETA: They’d rather spend their money on publicity campaigns than on the animals in their care. PETA killed 73.8% of the animals in their care in 2015 (x)
FCKH8: Is a for-profit company that exploits oppressed groups for money. They’re also wildly uninformed, and spread misogyny, cissexism and bi/panphobia, as well as stealing their posts/designs (x)
Autism Speaks: They spend most of their money on researching a way to eliminate autism, heighten the stigma against autism and don’t have a single autistic person on their board (x)

Susan G. Komen for the Cure: CEO makes insane amounts of money, they deny a lot of requests for wigs/help with treatment/etc., and have attempted to sue other charities that use the color pink as part of their anti-breast cancer campaign. ( xxx )
The Salvation Army: They promote the hatred of LGBT+ people, work with fundamentalist Christian groups to support conservative politics and rip off and exploit workers. ( xxx )
Wounded Warrior: They take money that should be spent on veterans and blow it on huge opulent parties for the company bigwigs. 26 million in 2014 alone wasted! ( xxx )

I can’t add links because I’m on mobile, but Locks of Love is an organization that takes donations of hair to make wigs for people with hair loss (cancer, among other conditions resulting in hair loss). They charge the kids for their wigs. I would suggest going to Wigs for Kids, a smilie organization that doesn’t charge (though they are very picky about dyed hair).

If you live in American, you’ve likely heard of the ongoing struggle taking place at the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota. There, hundreds of protestors are standing their ground against both Dakota Access LLC (Energy Transfer Partners) and the militaristic police presence. The police force in this area has ordered and deployed vicious assaults against the peaceful protestors in the form of attack dogs, rubber bullets, tear gas, and more.
What Is The Dakota Access Pipeline?
The Dakota Access Pipeline is a proposed crude oil pipeline that has been approved by The US Army Corps of Engineers in July 2016. The pipeline would run underground from North Dakota to Illinois by way of South Dakota and Iowa. (x)
Why Is DAPL Bad?
The Dakota Access Pipeline is opposed because of several reasons. The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe stated in their filed complaint in federal court that “the construction and operation of the pipeline…threatens the Tribe’s environment and economic well-being, and would damage and destroy sites of great historic, religious, and cultural significance to the Tribe.” (x) The construction of DAPL would disturb the environment and very possibly contaminate the natural water sources that the locals rely on. In addition, many feel that resources would be better spent investing in alternative energy sources.
What Can We Do To Help Right Now?
Even if you are not able to travel to Standing Rock to join the protesters, there are many ways to contribute to their cause and to their protection and well being.
