Fun family story: when my aunt was marrying her wife everyone was really excited but also dreading it because my aunt is known for her insanely long speeches so everyone knew her vows would be like 9 hours long so when it came time for her to say her vows she had a shit ton of cue cards in her hands and even her wife started groaning and my aunt took a deep inhale and then unravelled all the cue cards which were taped together and they all just read ‘HOT DAMN’ in giant letters and those were my aunts vows.
me: gets a solid 8 hrs of sleep
me: wakes up exhausted
me: ok first of all
@lord-leo-le-loserAn epic UPDATE of Molly Wetta’s graphic guide to LGBTQ titles in YA literature now up on YALSA’s website.
i laughed so hard at the “i don’t know” and “something is wrong”
the twilight one is like abstract poetry
They all kind of read like weird little stories in and of themselves. HG is about an amnesia victim trying to recall the facts people have told her about herself, but which she doesn’t remember. Twilight is a love story about two mimes. And Harry Potter is the tragic story of boy whom absolutely nothing happens to.
if you read it all three horizontally it sounds like a fanfiction cross over between katniss and harry and the author is making them have a really awkward first meeting
Quick reminder of how to do a Reverse Google Image Search, so if you see an edit or piece of art you like, it makes it much easier to find the original so you can reblog or retweet that instead of reposting.

Never forget that our prisoners are still the only legal slavery in the U.S., and that they’re forced to do necessary work, including fighting forest fires, for nothing.
There is honestly so much wrong with our prison system, from legalized slavery to price gouging (as much $17 for a 15 minute phone call) to ex-convicts being unable to find work regardless of their qualifications, making it impossible for them to re-integrate into society and almost guaranteeing that they’ll go back to prison.
That’s not even touching the literal abuse they often suffer. Prisoners go through labor without proper medical care. They boil alive in prison showers as punishment. And that’s before we get to the institutional, wide-spread, and perfectly accepted torture that is solitary confinement, one single stay in which can ruin a person psychologically for life.
