One function of antisemitism is to protect established elites from revolutionary movements. Directing left-wing sentiment at the Jews as a collective has protected abusive authority for millennia. Left-wing antisemitism is fundamentally misdirected and self-destructive.
These immigrants victims have one thing in common– they’re immigrants of color. You don’t see ICE doing any of this racist bullshit towards white immigrants. Keep in mind all of these people have clean records. ICE agents see black/brown skin and automatically assume they’re a threat. It’s sad how some immigrants aren’t allowed to live their normal lives because they fear high authority scumbags like this. Anyone who defends this shit has no sense of humanity. None.

It really does get worst tho. I’ve made posts about this in the past but people never really wonder where these immigrants go once ICE “detains” them. Well, they go to these horrific detention centers, some even worse than prisons depending on the area. Depending on the detention center, detained immigrants can be deprived of food, clean water,sanitary products, and medical attention. There have also bee number cases of physical and sexual abuse from the officers. There have actually been more than 33,000 complaintsregarding sexual abuse in these detention centers and only 570 have been investigated.
So it gets a lot worse after they get arrested, and keep in mind a lot of these people have clean record. According to ICE, trying to start a better life in America is a crime. “Land of the free” my ass.
From a purely practical standpoint, it just doesn’t make any sense for mental health care to be so inaccessible to those who have the “scary”, potentially dangerous mental illnesses and disorders. It benefits everyone to give such people copious positive incentives to seek out whatever psychiatric or therapeutic care they might need, to facilitate them integrating with society in a way that is safe for themselves and others. Instead, there is an enormous disincentive: seeking treatment for those illnesses and disorders carries the risk of losing one’s rights and agency, if one is deemed too dangerous. The more someone with one of these conditions feels that they might be dangerous, the greater their disincentive to seek help for it.
It’s so wildly dysfunctional, it almost seems like a bad joke.
We’re much more valuable to capitalism as criminals than as patients, and society is configured in such a way as to facilitate us down that path.

Legitimate *pro bono legal services* don’t exist without a good reason. In a few of the exmormon groups I’m in you’ll see regular posts saying stuff like “Look what my lawyer sent me today!” with a pic of their resignation confirmation letter from the church.

As an ex-mormon, I’m gonna look the fuck into this. I want nothing to do with the church that shaped so much toxicity about my self image and my sexual orientation.

Everyone should be able to choose their religious beliefs and community, and leave any that they find does not work for them.
Ex mormon here - this guy’s legit. The Mormon holds your files for eternity, and when they find out that you’ve moved to a new area, they will send members and missionaries from that region to harass you. I know this sounds like dystopic bullshit, but they followed my father through three moves before he rejoined the church.
Like a lot of Puerto Ricans, I’m currently part of the diáspora; part of millions of Puerto Rican living outside the island due to different reasons that drove us to leave our Island (temporary or permanent)
As of tonight (9/19/17), Hurricane Maria will be moving across Puerto Rico as a category 5 hurricane. The destruction it will leave on its wake is unknown.
It’s sad and frustrating not knowing how to help my people, my island, my country, during these hard times.
So, I’m gathering all the places we can donate money. Real organizations from Puerto Rico, to ensure that the money goes directly where it’s needed. I’ll be updating this list as soon as I can verify (to the best of my knowledge) the organizations where the donations are going.

All donations to this fund will exclusively support the victims of the catastrophic Hurricane María and Irma in Puerto Rico and provide relief and aid the communities affected by this disaster.

Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief Fund - Puerto Ricans in Action: All funds will be withdrawn from the campaign on September 29, 2017, by our co-founder, Jorge Rivera, and donated to two nonprofits located in Puerto Rico working to rebuilding communities in Culebra and Loiza: ConPRmetidos is working to construction of long-enduring homes in Culebra that meet Safe Building Codes standards, and
Iniciativa Comunitaria is working with community leaders in Loiza to identify immediate and long-term needs. They are also working with the United Way of Puerto Rico to give the in-kind donations we receive to the best community organization.
