Why the hell is the situation in Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands not being covered round the clock —and at the top of the headlines?
I was looking at the notice to VI from FEMA — I was struck by the announcement that people could register on line. How do you do that if you have no internet? How do you call when phones aren’t working?
Ask them, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR IMMEDIATE SUPPORT for PUERTO RICO and THE VIRGIN ISLANDS?”
Yes that is bolded and in all caps. Yes, I am shouting.
Watching this nightmare unfold as a person who has worked in public health, who has family and friends in Puerto Rico and the VI, I am not going to stop shouting.

The water opossum (Chironectes minimus), also locally known as the yapok, is a marsupial of the family Didelphidae. It is the only living member of its genus, Chironectes. This semiaquatic creature is found in and near the freshwater streams and lakes in Mexico, Central and South America to Argentina, and is the most aquatic living marsupial. It is also the only living marsupial in which both sexes have a pouch.

Also, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Michael Strahan (Fox NFL Sunday, before the Eagles/Giants game) each gave speeches in support of the protests, and I was surprised at how passionate they were. I honestly didn’t expect them to speak against the president on the pregame show like that, and it wasn’t just a generic “freedom of speech” thing, they actually talked about race and injustice. The NFL made me proud today.
