Hey everyone I’m really sorry for this but I’m really ill, I was recently diagnosed with infectious colitis, as well as a rupturing cyst and generalized lung inflammation (due to infection and asthma).
I was in the hospital 3 times last week. Each time, my co-pay is $250. I have a prescription for zofran that I haven’t been able to fill yet, and the co-pay is $15. I’m on two antibiotics, one of them being a black box medication, so I urgently need more probiotics, as well as nutrition shakes because I’m not keeping a lot of food and water down.
We’re pretty much broke. We have enough money to get bus passes, but if I don’t get nutrition I won’t be able to work. If anyone can spare a few dollars, you would be helping us out a lot. We don’t get paid until next Wednesday.

“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape—the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.”
yo being black and depressed is hard as fuck. being black with anxiety is hard as fuck. being black with a chronic illness or disability is hard a fuck. everybody expects you to be ‘strong’ at all times and no one sees black people as complex or nuanced enough to be capable of suffering. no one ever thinks we could possibly need help. and if you’re a black woman, the moment you stop thinking about others and try to tend to yourself you’re a selfish lazy ungrateful bitch.
support black people, esp women, who need help. don’t just call us strong or tell us we’ll get through it, helpus. protect us. uplift us. allow us to be beings capable of suffering. give us the same space you’d give white women to express our pain and be there for us like you would for anyone else.
I want to share my Rainbow Cat for all the people who are scared and concerned for their safety right now, and for everyone who might just need a Rainbow Cat to brighten up their day.
